Product Description
THE EAGERLY AWAITED COLLECTION OF PERSONAL ESSAYS FROM THE BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF MY HORIZONTAL LIFE

When Chelsea Handler needs to get a few things off her chest, she appeals to a higher power -- vodka. You would too if you found out that your boyfriend was having an affair with a Peekapoo or if you had to pretend to be honeymooning with your father in order to upgrade to first class. Welcome to Chelsea's world -- a place where absurdity reigns supreme and a quick wit is the best line of defense.

In this hilarious, deliciously skewed collection, Chelsea mines her past for stories about her family, relationships, and career that are at once singular and ridiculous. Whether she's convincing her third-grade class that she has been tapped to play Goldie Hawn's daughter in the sequel to Private Benjamin, deciding to be more egalitarian by dating a redhead, or looking out for a foulmouthed, rum-swilling little person who looks just like her...only smaller, Chelsea has a knack for getting herself into the most outrageous situations. Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea showcases the candor and irresistible turns of phrase that have made her one of the freshest voices in comedy today.

1 out of 5 stars Horrible   March 20, 2010
Carol Pastor (Gobles, Michigan)
This is one of the worst books I have read. The first chapter had some really funny parts, but as you get into the book it goes downhill really fast. I struggled to finish it and would not buy any more of her books. Reading it was like getting bamboo shoots under your fingernails.

5 out of 5 stars HILARIOUS!!!!!   March 17, 2010

The first chapter is not one of the funniest but stick with this book because it gets MUCH better. After Chapter 1, I had tears rolling down my face until the end!

3 out of 5 stars Thought it would be funnier   March 16, 2010
Trina R. Green (Shawnee, KS)
I love Chelsea Handler and was so excited to read this book. It definitely provided some chuckles but nothing like I thought it would. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the book but maybe my expectations were too high. I love her straightforward manner on her show and couldn't wait to read about her adventures. The book just wasn't what I expected. Looking forward to reading her other books though.

3 out of 5 stars Not her best...   March 15, 2010
tarasdsu (San Diego, CA United States)
I bought this book because I really loved her first book, "My Horizontal Life", but was disappointed with this one. It had its moments and was enjoyable, but I wouldn't give it a ringing endorsement.

5 out of 5 stars Hilarious - Laugh out Loud!   March 14, 2010
Ashley Utterback (USA)
I loved this book! I seriously caught myself laughing out loud all alone. A really good read. If you are a fan of Chelsea a must read.
