Product Description Lone star and barf the dog-man try to rescue a druish princess from dark helmut. Studio: Tcfhe/mgm Release Date: 11/13/2007 Starring: John Candy Daphne Zuniga Run time: 96 minutes Rating: Pg Director: Mel Brooks
Amazon.com Mel Brooks's 1987 parody of the Star Wars trilogy is a jumble of jokes rather than a comic feature, and, predictably, some of those jokes work better than others. The cast, including Brooks in two roles, more or less mimics the principal characters from George Lucas's famous story line, and the director certainly gets a boost from new allies (iSCTV/i graduates Rick Moranis and John Candy) as well as old ones (Dick Van Patten, Dom DeLuise). Watch this and wait for the sporadic inspiration--but don't be surprised if you find yourself yearning for those years when Brooks was a more complete filmmaker (iYoung Frankenstein/i). I--Tom Keogh/I

Not as good as I remembered January 2, 2009 Jadecat (Lake Orion, MI United States) That is weird when you remember something as being funny, but when you see it again, it really isn't. I watched this with my kids, eek! We have enjoyed other spoof movies, Airplane, Scary Movie..., and this one was the worst I think we have seen. Plus, now it looks so dated. I am disappointed that this is the best they could come up with for Star Wars spoof. Doesn't make me want to watch more of Mel Brooks, maybe I'll let the kids give Monty Python a try. br /I almost bought this out of nostalgia, glad I rented first.
Spaceballs December 21, 2008 Carol P. Moore (Flint, MI) This is a very funny movie. It is a knockoff of the Star Wars movies. Has some foul language, may not be good for young children. All the adults in this household loves the humor in this movie.
Love it! December 2, 2008 Josh (NJ, USA) I didn't know about this movie till about 2001-2002 when it came out on DVD, but when I first saw it I fell in love. br /I've seen it about 10 times already, and still laugh every time. Mel Brooks is a genuous! br /I love the audio commentary on the DVD, and the video screen menu. br /The acting and sound quality was great for a 1980's movie. br /Overall awesome Parody Movie, not like any of the ones you see today, like Epic Movies and stuff like that. (This Parody is a WHOLE lot better then those). br / br /Haven't seen it? You need to. :) br /
fun September 30, 2008 R A (Texas) It's probably funny because I'm a Star Wars fanboy. I'll admit to it. Don't expect everything from this movie and you won't be disappointed. It's just simple fun, not to be too overly analyzed. Way better than those damn Scary (or Epic, or Superhero, or Not Another Teen) Movies.
Good mindless humor September 7, 2008 Matthew Maples (Oxford, MS USA) This isn't as good as his earlier films IMO, but that doesn't mean its not a good movie. Nothing academy award winning, but its not bad. Sure there are some corny jokes..ok, a lot of corny jokes, but if you don't find at least one part funny there is something wrong with you. If you liked Robin Hood: Men In Tights you will definitely like this one.
