Amazon.com The Magic School Bus heads for the sky and Ms. Frizzle's elementary school students learn all about flying and outer space in this trio of episodes. In "Magic School Bus Gets Lost in Space," a class field trip to the planetarium goes awry, so Ms. Frizzle heads the bus toward outer space for a tour of the planets in our solar system. Arnold's cousin Janet quickly exchanges skepticism for awe and becomes obsessed with gathering proof of her space travels--a quest that ultimately sets Ms. Frizzle floating loose in outer space. The gang returns to space to destroy an asteroid headed for their school in "Out of This World," learning all about orbits, comets, and asteroids along the way. Finally, the class discovers how air movement and wing design affect flight when they take a ride in Wanda and Tim's experimental remote-controlled airplane in "Taking Flight." DVD extras include an interactive "field trip" with onscreen facts about the planets in our solar system; English, French, or Spanish languages; and a DVD-ROM space adventure maze and instructions for building a mobile of the solar system. (Ages 3 to 7) --Tami Horiuchi

The Magic School Bus series is fun and educational! July 14, 2009 z hayes (plano, texas) My 4.5-year-old preschooler loves the Magic School Bus series of educational DVDs. Though some of the themes may be above her current level of comprehension, she does enjoy watching them. "Space Adventures" contains three episodes - "Taking Flight" sees Mrs Frizzle shrinking the kids to fit inside Tim and Wanda's remote-control airplane so they can learn how wing shape helps planes take off, in "The Magic School Bus Gets Lost in Space" Mrs Frizzle and the class tour the solar system, and in "Out of This World", the gang try to detour an asteroid headed for Earth. The DVD comes with extra features such as an interactive "field trip", there is the option of English, French and Spanish languages, and also a DVD-ROM adventure game etc.
The Magic School Bus series of educational DVDs make learning fun for young children and pique children's curiosity about the world around us. Highly recommended!
Magic School Bus Definitely Intrigues My Son February 4, 2009 Jennifer A. Rambo (San Diego, CA) We got this video for my four year old son at Christmas. He loves anything to do with space and he watched this video over and over again. I definitely have already gotten my money's worth, and it's only February. The Magic School Bus series is a really good one from an education standpoint, as well as an entertainment one. I would recommend this to other parents with kids of elementary age or even younger, like mine.
Really Educational June 25, 2008 R. Nowak (Green Bay, WI) I love the magic school bus and I found that this set was just as educational as the others. I completly recommend that you buy this and the other Magic School Bus sets because you or your child will learn quite a bit from them. I bought mine for myself and my little brother. He loves it.
A four-year olds delight! November 5, 2007 Matthew Boyd This DVD is one of my daughter's favorites. As she says, "It rocks!" I suppose I am to blame for that exclamation. The DVD can be played in Spanish, so she watches one episode in Spanish on weekends to reinforce her second-language skills. Lily Tomlin does not do the Spanish version, but it is still very good. Highly recommended. It is great for a 4-year olds conversation starter (as opposed to "poop," "boogers," and "pootie" (fart).
Another winner November 2, 2007 T&H Mom (California) My kids both LOVE the Magic School Bus videos. My son watched one in Kindergarten and raved about it so much that we bought them all--and we've never been disappointed. We have all learned fun, new facts. The kids watch them again and again.
