Album Description Starring Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney, executive produced by Playtone's Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, and directed by Emmy-winner Tom Hooper, JOHN ADAMS is a seven-part epic miniseries event that explores American history through the eyes of one of the greatest of the founding fathers, John Adams (Giamatti), a fiercely independent spirit whose unwavering vision steered America through a tumultuous period. Based on David McCullough's Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, the miniseries is produced for HBO Films by Playtone.

Main title track flawed August 28, 2008 Be warned that the mixing for the title track on the CD isn't the same as what you here in the show.
Music for John Adams - the Movie - Stands on It's Own and More August 11, 2008 This sound track the work of composers Rob Lane and Joseph Vitarelli really evoke the emotions of the era and the people in their works.
Their work complements the efforts of David McCullough through his book and the people in the production of the movie, the actors, the cinematographers and all the others including Tom Hanks and the others in making of this series for which the soundtrack was created. John Adams (HBO Miniseries)
The music truly honors and complements the Founding Fathers, Founding Mothers and Founding Children for the sacrifices they made. Not only does the music accomplish these things, but it truly stands on its own.
every american should watch and listen to this movie. August 6, 2008 This was the best movie I've seen in a long time, ever since I saw The World's Fastest Indian, another good movie that movie critics missed. If it wasn't for John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, we'd probably still be a British Colony. This country needs a 21st Century John Adams or Thomas Jefferson to lead this country, this country has no leadership. Excellent movie, thank God for John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. Have a box of kleenex ready for the last chapter. 5 star movie.
Inspiring, Pensive. Melancholy. Superb. July 30, 2008 The John Adams soundtrack is, in many ways as mercurial as the moods of the man portrayed in the HBO series. The tracks include inspirational, quick paced pieces leaving the listener determined. Many others offer a mix of variations on classical works (Schubert, Piano Trio in E-Flat), to slow-paced, quiet, meditative pieces for thoughtful contemplation or as background to a good book or a lazy afternoon. Lane and Vitarelli have put together an original score, and the Hollywood Studio Symphony's execution does it considerable justice. While not getting what I expected, I was nevertheless enthralled and pleased with the surprises. You will be too.
Some of the Tracks Will Make You Weep July 19, 2008 I can't add much beyond what's already been added by the earlier reviewers. The series is excellent and the soundtrack is superb. It does indeed have a distinctly American feel to it, and some of the tracks have elements that will/could bring you to tears they're so moving (e.g., Declaration of Independence, Letter to Jefferson, etc.). I can recommend this without reservation.
