4 out of 5 stars Tripod for Mini Flip Ultra   November 12, 2008

I bought the mini flip-video camera to make Youtube movies. I love the camera. The tripod was very tiny, smaller than I expected. The tripod can be used to point the little camcorder at its target, but the camera is so small and easy to use, I found that I really do not need the tripod. The camera can be set on anything and get the same results. It's nice to have the tripod, just in case, but for me, it is basically useless.

5 out of 5 stars Versatile tripod for Flip Video Camera   November 9, 2008

I like the tripod because you can move the legs to get the exact position you need. It is lightweight and easy to attach to the Flip Video Camera. It is exactly what I hoped for.

4 out of 5 stars Look, no hands!   November 4, 2008

This tripod works well for hands free recording. Even better are the adjustable legs you can move about to shoot from different angles. Lightweight and sturdy, this is a great accessory for the Flip.

5 out of 5 stars Cute and functional   November 3, 2008

I love how the tripod comes with an assortment of colors for the tips of the base. It is fuctional and cute and works very well with the flip video.

2 out of 5 stars Avoid. (Not awful, but I have a recommendation.)   October 26, 2008

The threaded post is too long on this cute little tripod--the base of your device stands off a few millimeters from the tripod's little rubber washer, which causes your camera or other device to be supported solely by the threaded post itself. It doesn't affect overall stability, but it is a lot more "wobbly" than any of the other small tripods I've used.

Buy the Joby GP1-M1EN Gorillapod GoGo Flexible Tripod instead. It's well worth the extra money.

Now that I have gotten the Joby, I have now added the Flip tripod to my childrens' toy box, as I'm past the time window during which I could have returned the item to Amazon.

UPDATE 7 Nov 2008: Just to see how the issue would be handled, I got in touch (email only, folks!) with Flip's "customer service" department. They were initially comically confused (language barrier, perhaps?), but finally offered to issue an RMA so that I could mail the item back to them for replacement. I declined the offer, as the cost of the tripod was a little over ten dollars--it would not be worth incurring the additional shipping cost to send it back. A class move would have been for Flip to just mail me a replacement after I emailed them my Amazon receipt.

Oh well, back to the toy box, where it belongs . . .
