4 out of 5 stars Finally, a copy!   March 28, 2008

Pays to have a copy of your fave movies, and this one is part of my not so long list in the romantic comedy department. =] It was shipped within the time frame given and packaged to protect the DVD. This copy includes deleted & behind the scenes, production notes and a lot more. It is competitively priced. You may find other online offers that would be cheaper but who knows about the reliability of those sites and the quality of their items. Anyway, happy about this order!

5 out of 5 stars If you've missed this, you've missed out...   February 14, 2008

This is one of about 5 films that I could watch over and over and never grow tired of seeing.

All of the actors/actresses, even those with bit parts, are briliiant. The writing is great - it doesn't really 'drag' anywhere.

There are parts that will make you laugh out loud, no matter how many times you've seen it.

I recently upgraded to the HD DVD version - the transfer is amazing, and really brings everything out - titles of books on the bookshelves, food in the kitchen scenes, etc. - and all of the outdoor street scenes are simply beautiful.

There's a 'change of season' walk (it'll make sense when you watch it) that I'd never really caught onto until I saw this film in Hi-Def.

It's a winner.

5 out of 5 stars Notting Hill   December 28, 2007

I had this movie and my daughter loves it, she said it was her favorite movie. So she borrowed it to take home and watch and unfortunately her house burnt to the ground so I wanted to get a replacement so she could watch it and see if it would cheer her up. Your service was great and it came in a few days.

5 out of 5 stars Great Light Romantic Comedy   December 22, 2007
Philip D. Parshall
I give this movie five stars for the emotional impact it had/has on me as well as the laughs! Spike alone is worth the price of the ticket! I've never seen Hugh Grant in a role I've enjoyed so much. He's perfect as William Thacker. Not a great performance for Julia Roberts but the role is a strange one: a famous actress playing a famous actress who isn't that great of an actress! For me, the English characters shine and make the movie. I love the group of friends William Thacker has. Very interesting and real people. My favorite scene (beside the final one with the background of Elvis Costello singing "She"), is when Hugh Grant is sadly walking down the street in Notting Hill with the photography acting as a sort of timeline and the seasons changing as he walks. Nice visual. I love the London photography. I think this movie is appealing slice of romantic comedy pie.
