5 out of 5 stars Great Movie... some mature content (Nature)   March 13, 2007
Eric J. Green (texas, usa)
Overall the DVD was good and very much appropriate for young children. However, after a couple of weeks it had fallen to the back of his preference list. We've not watched it in over a year now. I guess this isn't so different from any other DVD we have.

I would recommend this for young children. It does have a few concepts that are not appropriate, but are presented in a way that is way over the heads of children adn does have a few scenes that very concervative parents may term violent but is natural violence (as you'd find in nature). The movie is original and entertaining to the whole family.

5 out of 5 stars Absolute work of Disney art.   March 11, 2007

I just said it. A masterpeice of animation, effects, and vocal acting. If you want to have another good Disney gem in your collection, get this. High recomendation.

5 out of 5 stars Great Experience   March 9, 2007
I. S. McRae (Atlanta, GA)
This hard to find movie turned to out to be the most wonderful experience thanks to the great service and timely delivery my grandchildren has watched this DVD over and over and over again.

4 out of 5 stars Awesome movie. Annoying dvd menus.   March 7, 2007
Heather R. Coxon (Connecticut, USA)
The movie is awesome. The picture and sound quality are awesome. The dvd menu setup is infuriating. I have a 2 year old daughter who loves this movie. However, it takes forever to get past all of the promotional menus and previews and disney advertisements before you can actually get the movie started. In the meantime my daughter is crying because it's taking so long. (Yes, my daughter already runs the household and yes we're in trouble.)
So,... great movie. Really annoying menus. (I noticed they have since come up with a "fast play" feature in their more recent disney releases. Can't imagine why....)

The Lion King

The Lion King is a spectacular movie. It teaches a valuable lesson. There is a lion cub born, named Simba. The father's name is Mufassa. When Simba is still just a cub his father is killed in a stampede. His uncle Scar makes Simba believe that it was his fault. Then Scar tells Simba that he needs to run away and never come back. So simba runs away, and Scar sends some hyenas after Simba to kill him. Simba gets away from them, of course. Simba meets Timone and Puumba who take care of him. Simba grows up and meets an old baboon named Rafiki. Rafiki tells Simba that he knows his father. Simba doesn't believe him because his father is dead. There is a scene where the clouds take the shape of Simba's father and it says to him "In forgetting me you have forgotten who you are." Or something along those lines. After that Simba meets Nala, one of his old friends. She asks him to come back to Pride Rock with her. He says no.
This movie is appropriate for all age groups. I really enjoy watching this movie. If you haven't already seen this movie, I would recommend that you rent the movie and watch it.
