This movie is great. It's funny (silly funny), entertaining and genius. It is a loose remake of It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World, but with a fantastic cast, it seems fresh for younger viewers. Whoopie Goldberg is hilarious, as is Jon Lovitz who I absolutely adore. He is beyond funny. Sure he provides a bit of tasteless humour (a few Nazi jokes), but generally he is near his best. Seth Green is good and you'll know all the rest. If you want a light movie where there isn't much need for major concentration, and you want a good laugh or three, then watch this. It's very good. I highly recommend this.

The comic talent collected for this movie was second to none. Just corralling and getting these enormously gifted people to work together must have been a job...
Just like Stanley Kramer's burden in "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World." At least this version was not shot in Cinerama!
So, if Rat Race is a remake of Mad Mad World, how does it stack up?
Well, on the downside, no cinerama. No boffo ending. Some miscasting, e.g., Cuba.
On the upside, less sentimentality. Better writing. The Hitler sequence is hysterical.
If you need a good laugh, there's a bunch of them in here for you. Enjoy!

rat race is the best film in the world im in love with it ALOT. we watch it almost every day including special features we love vince and especially the 'wat u were not next' man i recomend u see it!

THIS IS THE FUNNIEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!EVER!!!!! It only got rated I think two stars, so at first I was reluctant to even see it.....of course when you watch alot of movies (as I do) you eventually get around to watching the movies you swore you would never see ;-) I was really surprised how great - great - great! this movie was - it has the best actors - they are SO SO SOOOO FUNNY!!! John Cleese, Jon Lovitz, Whoopi Goldberg, Mr. Bean (aka - Rowan?Atkinson), Seth Green, and many many other great actors - it was so extremely, extremely funny. I am not one for watching a movie more that once - but I can honestly say that I LOVE TO WATCH THIS MOVIE OVER AND OVER - and it's great for everyone of all ages, you can even sit down and watch it with your family. THIS MOVIE IS ONE OF MY TREASURED GEMS IN MY MOVIE COLLECTION! I don't want to tell you anything that happens in the movie - because it is to good to spoil!

My husband and I randomly watched this on our honeymoon, and could not believe we had never heard of it before after watching it. It is so hilarious, very witty, and has one crazy scene after another. We loved it so much that I reccomended it to my parents. They just watched it and also agreed it was the funniest movie they've seen in years. They haven't laughed that hard in ages, and now want to pick up this movie for other friends and family. This movie is definitely a little known secret!
