Basically, this movie follows the book exactly. It is so much better than the recent remake. I tried to watch the remake and turned it off after 20 minutes.
If you want the best then this is the version you want.

This is the best. The remake is a poor substitute for the humor woven into the fine details of this movie. It takes 3 times watching this movie to understand all the details. After that it is great fun watching it over again. This movie lacks all the CGI of the remake, and is better for it. This version covers more of the original trilogy than the remake, and you get a more complete feeling for the story.

This BBC comedy adaptation of the books (best books ever)is perfect. Buy it. It is hilarious and the low budget BBC production just adds to it. This is a must have for any collection.

As a fan of the books, and knowing of the history of them (they came from the radio broadcast), this is so much cooler than the big budget movie could ever hope to be. It keeps more to the spirit of the books. The characters are more to what I imagined from the books. If you are a 'core Hiker fan, BUY THIS!!!! And remember your towel.
