There should be a 10-star option given for this movie! October 23, 1999 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life!!!!!!! I love Pumbaa! Scar was kinda funny but he was definately as evil as Disney could make any character be.
probably THE BEST ANIMATED FILM ! October 20, 1999 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
After the movie Little Mermaid came out, Disney would make 3 other animated masterpieces: Beauty & the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King, that would change the way we looked at animated films, somthing new, something wonderful. But of all these 4 great animated films, in my opinion The Lion King was the greatest. The music was just, beautiful, and Scar was probably the most EVIL Disney villain the was ever drawn on a piece of paper. You hated him, but you almost liked him, because he was so great. But probably the best part of the movie was Simba's pal's Pumbaa and Timon, the BEST Disney characters EVER!!! The scene where Timon was doing the hula, I thought I was going to die from laughing. Anybody from toddler to 10 year old to 60 year from boy to old woman to teenager and so forth will, without a doubt, LOVE this movie, everyone.
September 23,1999 September 25, 1999 I Love The Lion King! It Was A Great Movie. I Was Sad That Mufasa Died. I Like The Part When Pumbaa Has Simba Eating A Bug. I Like Nala And Simba When The Fall In Love.
ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER MADE BEST OF DISNEY September 20, 1999 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The story is great but the soundtrack I don't even have words to say how good it is the best songs are Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Circle Of Life, Be Prepared and Hakuna Matata--It's got incredible animation and it's the best animated movie ever done and one of the best movies in the world you should really buy it when amazon has more and you should also buy The Lion King 2 which is good for being a sequel and a straight to video movie.
Disney's best movie, one of their best albums July 29, 1999 This is a GREAT CD. I went through a phase where I listened to it several times a day. I think I'm qualified to review it. First, the instrumentals are AWESOME. My favorite piece is "This Land," but all of them are good. If only they'd included ALL the score, not just a few pieces! "Pocahontas" did this right. Second, the vocal songs were generally OK, but varied wildly in quality. I would have gladly given up all of them for more score, but since that isn't an option, I'll review them as they came. "Circle of Life" is the best vocal on the CD. I think "Be Prepared" and "Hakuna Matata"-- yes, "Hakuna Matata"--stink. The other songs are so-so, until Elton John gets to them at the end. Then they're lousy. But the score more than redeems the album. All in all, a good, if checkered release.
