My daughter just loves this movie. It's a great movie for the entire family.
Excellent family film January 11, 2007 stdyskills (Hartford, CT) This is a fun film for the entire family. We liked it so much we gave it as a gift this Christmas.
Great adaptation! December 6, 2006 Hedera Femme (USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a great story about a brilliant young girl who overcomes the cruelty of a family that does not treat her as she deserves. The villains are her parents and her teacher, Mrs Trunchbull. With the help of the kind teacher, Ms Honey, and her own magical powers, she manages to get adopted by her mentor and get rid of the villainous teacher who killed Ms Honey's parents. Not only does the book make some interesting statements about education and family, but the strong female protagonist is a neat role model for young girls. I loved it as a kid, and still appreciate it a great deal; also, the film version captures the imagery and intent nicely. As for the widescreen issue, it's a shame. It could have been kept the way we saw it in theatres...oh well.
Best Movie Ever November 11, 2006 LadyTT (Chicago) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchase this DVD for my grandniece, and she absolutely loves it. She watches it over and over again. She knows every word verbatim. I don't mind watching it. What a great movie!!
Couldn't have been better! October 30, 2006 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Why are all the customer reviews so mad that this is on full screen. It dosen't matter about the film,it matters about the story. This was great! Miss Trunchbull[Pam Ferris] was great and scary! I have this on video and dvd and it's great!
