After just watching the first disc you realize how great this mini series really was. All the great actors, and just the story line, wow it's great.

5 out of 5 stars Centennial - Well acted, good coverage of the settlement of the west   August 25, 2008
Centennial - The Complete Series
The group of six DVDs shows the development of the fictitious town of Centennial well. The early exploration of the west is shown and the many actors that come and go add to the excellent story line. The beauty of the west is displayed as is the adventure, excitement and danger of early America. I would recommend this series to anyone that is interested in the American West.

5 out of 5 stars Best TV miniSeries I ever seen   August 25, 2008
When I watched this miniseries back in the 70's. What a cast of greats at the time. Robert Conrad was very popular with the Wild West series of the 60's and Baa, baa Black Sheep series of the 70's. It was filled with great stars of the time, and told a story of an America that anyone would be proud of. It was fitional, but could have been a story that fit anyone's family history. Centennial was about America in its best and not so good, but it always seemed to work through those times to move into a better way of life. It spanned through almost all of the history of the United States and shared how a town/community came together to make Centennial everyone's home town in America.

The best part is the feeling we have when the story is continued the next day leaving us with anticipation of what is to happen next. This was a great series, and to finally come to DVD is icing on the cake. I recorded this a while back on VHS, and enjoyed it very much, but having to pay close attention to when the commericals were coming, and making sure that I was able to be there to record it was a major task. Not to mention that using the recording timer and sure that the tape was plenty so you would loose the last part of the eposide. My copy had mistakes in it, so I didn't get the full effect, and I think this copy had edited parts that were cut out to make the time fit with the network's schedule. I still have the VHS copy, but now I have the DVD and enjoy seeing Pasquinel, McKeag, Clay Basket, Levi Zeant, Oliver Seccombe, R.J. Potient, the Wendells, and many others on DVD for the first time.

With over 26 hours of this story you just want more and more. Great cast including Robert Conrad, Richard Chamberlain, Gregory Harrison, Barbara Carrera, Sally Kellerman, Raymond Burr, Dennis Weaver, Stephanie Zimbalist, Alex Karras, Richard Crenna, Cliff De Young, Tinothy Dalton Lynn Redgrave, Brian Keith, Anthony Zerbe, David Janseen, Robert Vaughn, Andy Griffith, Sharon Gless, and Merle Haggard. A must have if you are a fan of history, especially American history.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome adventure   August 25, 2008
This epic is the best since Gone with the Wind. Watching it is like being there and moving through 100 years of history. I have purchased several of these movies as gifts and had the people I gave them to call me and thank me a hundred times for the adventure this movie gave them. Loved Pasquinel and McKeag!!! along with all the characters in this totally awesome, history packed, adventure packed epic. What a value also for this mini-series.

Thanks for it's release.
Loving it in Jacksonville, Florida and Hazlehurst, Georgia

5 out of 5 stars Great series!   August 22, 2008
Although we haven't seen the whole series yet, we've very much enjoyed the story, as well as the acting and scenery. We enjoy using it as a way to sit done as a family and follow it together. You can start, and stop, at any time, without commercials! And rewind, if you miss something!
