Beautiful Frame But.. June 21, 2008 High Tech Girl (Oregon) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I received this product as a christmas present from my hubby. I was thrilled with the size and I loved it at first. I have 2 sons in the Military so having this in my living room and seeing my grown sons so large was wonderful. We came home the other day and it was off yes and it would not start up again. I didn't use the slideshow feature much but... It stopped working period.. I had it plugged into a surger protector too. So I warn do not buy this product. I was lucky and bought it somewhere and did take it back. I have a small digital frame and it works great!!!
Very nice frame June 20, 2008 J. Breinholt (Indianapolis, IN) This is an excellent frame. The quality of the wood is really a step above others I have seen. There were some glitches with the software, but one of their engineers worked with me and even made improvements to the software based on our interactions. It would have been great for it to work flawlessly out of the box, but the exceptional customer service is notable.
Smartparts SPX8 Digital frame June 18, 2008 M. Schach (West Burlington, IA) I purchased this frame based upon others' recommendations and the storage capacity. I have to say that the SPX 8-inch digital frame is all that it claims to be! It was easy to set up and use, even for someone who is technology-dysfunctional. The images are crystal clear, and the frame style fits in with many decors. I downloaded pictures directly from my computer after editing them in Photoshop, as opposed to downloading them from the SD card. The directions warned me that the slide program may run more slowly by doing this, and they were right. However, I can live with this. I should point out that for the best resolution and definition, the pictures should be viewed at eye level. Other than these two small problems, this frame is well worth the money and is an excellent way to enjoy those special shots!
Great product June 18, 2008 Deanna Rzeznik (New York, USA) Very easy to load pictures on from portable USB flash drive or SD card. I haven't tried from my computer yet. Picture quality is wonderful, holds a lot of pictures, has options for how many pictures you want displayed on the screen and how you would like the pics to change to the next one (i.e. fade, from the right or left, random). Wood frame is very nice. Wish it had a battery operation option, needs to be pluged in to work. Haven't seen the motion detection feature work yet, I've left it sitting but it doesn't seem to shut itself off ??? not sure about that yet. Bought as a gift and while loading pics and playing with it wanted to keep it for myself! I recommend this frame, they improved on issues their earlier models had.
Nice But Deceiving June 17, 2008 Melissa 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this item as a gift on May 14th, 2008. However, I did not research it as much as I should have (I didn't think I had to). I was under the assumption that you can download pictures directly from your computer using a USB cable and they would be stored in the frame's 128 MB memory. Not the case! First, there was no USB cable included; I had to purchase one. Then, when nothing was happening, I found out that this cannot be done as the frame has NO internal memory. All it has is a USB port that you connect your flash drive to. This is the only was you get your pictures from the computer to frame. Now, you need to purchase one of those. The Optipix download did not work, either. After calling the company, I found out your needed a memory card slot on your computer. If you didn't have one, you had to purchase a memory card reader. Nonsense to a non-technical person! No where does it state this on the product. After hanging up the phone, I still was not sure how to get the Optipix to work. In the end, it was not worth it. It is very deceiving! I only recommend this product if you want to view pictures from a memory card or USB flash drive.
