2 out of 5 stars Not much storage..   May 5, 2008
latortie (Washington)
I was excited to purchase this frame for my Mom for Mother's day because I thought I would be able to load many pictures--the description says it holds over 100, but did list a storage capacity. Well, I have 12 pictures loaded. It won't take anymore. Also, the display came with a slight scratch. Not a big deal, but certainly less than I expected. I would return it, but it is too close to Mother's Day. I guess she will have to be happy with 12 pics.

Another disappointment--no flash drive port. I had wanted to store pics on my flash, bring to moms, and load on the frame. I cannot do that. Mom does not have a computer--I will have to take her frame home with me to load the pics.

Would not buy again.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome!!! DPF...   May 5, 2008

This is great photo frame! Easy to use and the features are fantastic...I purchased this for $49.99 when it was gold box deal of the day. I can say this is the best $49 I have ever spent! This is mothers day gift for my mother in law and I can say she is electronically challenged! But, the simple joystick operation & on/off button is located on the frame---no remove control to fumble with! She will have no trouble w/ the operation; very simple. I have uploaded 50 pictures with the Philips CD program that is provided and it's very easy to crop, edit, and resize your pictures with this program. Very Easy! The internal memory will hold about 150 pictures; I believe this is what the owners guide indicated. The clarity is awesome!!! Pictures are bright, vibrant and clear! I am sold on Philips photo frames. I will never buy any of those "no name" brands again! There is no comparsion! Don't waste your money on those cheaper frames. Get a Philips and you won't be disappointed with the picture quality.

4 out of 5 stars Crisp and Cute   May 3, 2008

The best thing about the frame is its resolution. Make sure you check the resolution of whatever frame you're considerng purchasing. This smaller frame looks much better than bigger (6 or 7 inch) frames with lower resolution. Even high quality pictures look stupid on bigger screens with less pixels per inch. I'm getting this one as a gift for a high school graduation.

5 out of 5 stars Great Frame   May 2, 2008

This little frame is great. I bought it when it was on the GB deal, so I got a great price on it. It's extremely easy to use, I just dragged and dropped my pictures from my computer to the frame and clicked the features I wanted (slideshow, no collages, random transitions) and away it went. The timer feature is great too - it automatically turns on about the time I get to work and turns off around the time I leave and it never comes on during the weekend. I'd buy another one to give as gifts or for my husband's desk if the deal comes up again. The picture quality is quite good, and the images are about the size of a normal 4x6 photograph.

1 out of 5 stars Crashes, displays improperly--DO NOT BUY   May 2, 2008

This product was a complete disappointment and waste of time. My wife and I bought one for each set of parents with the hope of mailing them an SD card with pictures of grandchildren every few months. Imagine our disappointment when the frame failed to work. It simply can't handle the JPEG files we give it. They're straight from the camera, untouched, except that some have been rotated in Mac OS X's photo import tool.

Here's what happens. When we start the slideshow, some pictures are displayed on their sides rather than properly. If we rotate the photo frame, the pictures rotate so that they stay on their sides! And then when we push the menu button, the whole frame freezes up. It has to be unplugged and plugged back in to get it working again. Obviously not the hands-off easy display for the grandparents we were hoping for.

From the other reviews, it's clear that the frame works for some people... but you should AVOID THIS FRAME because there's no way of telling if it will work for you. We have to send both back--it just doesn't work. This is unacceptably poor quality for a big name company like Philips. We won't be buying from them again.

(Oh, and the Philips product support web site was no help. I downloaded and installed their firmware upgrade, but it made no difference, and there was no mention of any problems on the site.)
