Hi-lites of societal and musical satire September 19, 2000 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
This CD contains the best songs that the team of Spitting Image created during their ten years or so of satire with their trendsetting puppets. Their greatest and most hilarious sketches included Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and the Pope. The luck the Spitting Image team had was that these were outspoken and megalomaniac figures who were screaming to be made fun of. Also their 'politics' were such that they inspired fierce opposition, f.i. from satire. This CD includes the highlights of musical satire; The Megalomaniacs and bimbos in pop music such as Michael Jackson, USA for Africa, Dire Straits, Kylie Minogue. Some artists were helpful in making the CD, such as Sting, other worked with the puppets to their advantage, such as Genesis.
