Amazon.co.uk Review Twenty years before the Farrelly Brothers turned raunch into acceptable film comedy, the team of David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and Jerry Zucker exploited it first. The college threesome made it big with IAirplane/I in 1980, but this 1977 cinematic version of their live theatre show was the ground zero for their talents. IKentucky Fried Movie/I is a mish-mash of sketches, fake commercials, and parodies with no central theme--except their crudeness and laugh-out-loud humour. Highlights include a commercial for "Scot Free", a board game based on the Kennedy assassination conspiracy; "The Wonderful World of Sex", in which a couple goes through foreplay with a self-help narrator instructing them step-by-step; and a 20-minute spoof of Bruce Lee films entitled "A Fistful of Yen". Brazen to a fault, the movie will reach for any punchline, no matter how crude (and those who flocked to the film's initial release looking for R-rated sex will remember the final sketch and the infamous trailer for "Catholic High School Girls in Trouble".) Directed by then-unknown John Landis (who went on to make IThe Blues Brothers/I and IAn American Werewolf in London/I) on a shoestring budget, the film has aged. But crassness, when this funny, is forever. --IDoug Thomas, Amazon.com/I

The first Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker movie and one of the best November 29, 2008 I saw this film in the cinema (yep, that old) and bought from Major 8 Movies both 400 ft Super 8 extracts, one of selected sketches and the other "A Fistful Of Yen". I bought the VHS in the days before video certification and now I have the DVD.br /It is brilliant. They could never make anything like this again... I can see it getting canned when they reviewed the script for "Danger Seekers" on the basis of ONE WORD.br /And as for "Catholic High School Girls In Trouble"?!! I wonder whether Samuel L Broncowitz was named for Bronco Lane the western hero or Bronco the British brand of Toilet Paper.... but the films paraded under his name mercilessly rip the hell out of the soft porn movies of the '70s, the action thrillers studded with big stars in mini cameos, the technical gimmicks used to sell cinema when TV looked to have killed it dead....br /Fancy a porno like "Deep Throat" in Feelarama? they'd have to sell mouthwash with the KiaOra....br /Henry Gibson is a wonderful spokesman on behalf of the dead (nowadays they'd be called vitally challenged and have govt. funded counselling)br /KFM is not for the faint of heart or the easily offended, it takes a scattergun approach to humour and if one sketch doesn't work for you, then there's another right along in a moment... This is no feather touch of comedy but a Louisville Slugger to your laughter glands...br /br /But enough! My copy of "Fistful Of Yen" on 8mm cost me 15 and ran for about 20 minutes. You have the opportunity to have the whole crazy shooting match for about a third of that.br /WHERE CAN YOU GET A BARGAIN LIKE THAT NOW!?br /Here, of course.br /Buy this movie and make serious film critics weep.....
Fantastic February 27, 2001 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Anyone who likes airplane any of the naked gun films or Leslie Nielson films will love this, i find myself watching it over and over. the bruce lee micky take is great.
seen it loads, well funny, politically incorrect 70's ,mad ! January 26, 2001 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
Same as above will do, buy it, its one of those you will find yourself watching over again etc. Done by the same guy who done airplane, it is a collection of short flicks with one mocking "enter the dragon" but thats enough now. Dont won't to spoil it for ya !!!
The all time greatest Bruce Lee Spoof, a must have video ! May 11, 2000 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is one of the all time great videos. Loads of short clips based on an advert format. The main feature is the funniest Bruce Lee 'Enter The Dragon' spoof you will ever see. Featuring plenty of well known stars like Donald Sutherland. Cannot recommend this highly enough, cheap as well. Brilliant, buy it now !
