Amazon.co.uk Review One of the remarkable things about making an animated sequel is that actors don't age. It took Disney 46 years to make a sequel to its 1955 hit ILady and the Tramp/I, yet the events of this made-for-video sequel take place only six months later. Lady and Tramp are getting along fine with their human family, the Darlings, and they have four new puppies. The three girl puppies take after mum, the boy, Scamp, has a lot of dad in him. Scamp dreams of "being a real dog", and that means living on the street as a member of the Junkyard Dogs. Despite his dad's warnings, Scamp (voiced by Scott Wolf) runs off and goes through the trials of a mutt, including run-ins with Junkyard leader Buster (Chazz Palminteri); the dogcatcher (Don Knotts); and a fellow stray, Angel (Alyssa Milano). The formula here is the same as other Disney direct-to-video sequels for IThe Lion King/I and IThe Little Mermaid/I, and the justification to return to a classic movie is flimsy at best. To its credit, Disney has made a quality effort in the animation department, adapting sets and characters from the original with great success. But the story is never engaging, the songs are forgettable, and the impact unsustainable (and at 62 minutes, quite trite). Nevertheless, a Disney kid should dig Scamp's rough-and-tumble adventures and the cute tale of puppy love (Scamp and Angel even revisit the Italian diner). --IDoug Thomas, Amazon.com/I

  Dog-Tastic! November 4, 2002 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Lady and the Tramp two is the best! It is really good, and the animation is brilliant. It makes a big empression on yourself after you finish watching it. What is that person on the other review on about? It does so say the names of Lady and Tramp's three girl puppies! Look at the credits! Annette, Colette and Danielle! Love the characters and the songs are wonderful and perfect for all the family! It makes you feel wanted and learnbrto appreciate your family, not just take them for granted. p** Love it! It's definatly better the Little Mermaid 2
Bad Bad Bad.... September 14, 2001 7 out of 18 found this review helpful
One question you MUST ask yourself when you watch this sequel....SINCE WHEN DID THE FAMILY MOVE TO AMERICA?! Cheesy plot with predictable ending. It was like watching Homeward Bound 2. Except that I LIKED Homeward Bound 2. A rushed effort to try and keep up with the first classic. Sorry Disney, but you've really let us down with this one. It's a good job "The Little Mermaid 2" was better. ^_^ Folks, go buy that instead ok?

this film, was such an aspiring film, as my daughter who is 4 has all the collection of the disney films...and she paticulary enjoyed this film,as the characters and the story line was very funny and very aspiring... but i think the little mermaid 2 won her over, i would recommend this film to the whole family to watch...but i think you would first need to watch the first lady and the tramp....these films are for the adults as well, as we were once children..

Loved everyhting about it!!! The only bad thing I have to say is that it should have been longer!! Ad we didn't find out the names of Lady and Tramp's 3 daughters! But still a master sequel!
For kids of any age! March 16, 2001 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
At 47 years old, I am one of the original Lady The Tramp kids! I was completely sold on the original movie and was really excited (if a little apprehensive) when I saw the sequel had been released. The apprehension vanished as soon as I'd finished watching the DVD. All the wonder of the original film has been lovingly and professionally preserved with all the original characters (except for Peg, the pound hound) still alive and kicking. The new characters are equally as fresh and exciting as the originals. If anything lets the film down it's the music. The score doesn't match up to the original at all but at least the songs do extend the storyline rather than just pop up for no apparent reason. The strong moral theme of the movie is the importance of the family unit which can only be good to teach kids of today or anytime. The extra features on the DVD are superb with an interactive game (and prize movies!) which can actually be played on the TV screen for a change. Well worth the money and produced in the style of the original Disney masterpiece. Surely nobody could be disappointed with this one....there again......
