Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review
A family film for an era when "family film" means scatological jokes, gratuitous violence, and shapeless storytelling, ISee Spot Run/I is about par for the course. Punctuated by many a lowbrow moment (scenes of combustible zebra flatulence, for instance), ISpot/I has trouble staying true to its major storyline despite the latter's redeeming qualities. That story concerns an FBI-trained bull mastiff who flees the wrath of a mobster (Paul Sorvino) and ends up in the care of a pooch-averse postman (David Arquette) and the latter's little neighbour (Angus T Jones). With a nutball like Arquette in the lead (and vigorous support work from comic Anthony Anderson of IMe, Myself, and Irene/I), the antics come fast and furious, including a wild bit of slapstick in which Arquette simultaneously gets his head stuck in a fishbowl and his body densely wrapped in helium-inflated plastic. On the other hand, there's a touching simplicity to the relationship between man and canine, each of whom has been terribly lonely in his own way. Sure, the filmmakers went for some cheap laughs, but there is much else here that is harder earned. I--Tom Keogh, Amazon.com/I

5 out of 5 stars This film's no dog ...   March 6, 2006

A brilliant film - this is the kind of family film I like. A few years ago Hollywood used to make dog comedies aimed at the family audience, and it meant one thing - your kids would love it, but you would have to endure it.pWhats so great about this is it works on a lot of levels - there's comedy aimed at both adults and kids. David Arquette showcases the kind of manic comic timing which makes you wonder why you don't see him in more movies. Michael Clarke Duncan gives the tough guy with a soft underbelly performance you've come to rely on him over the years. But both are of course outdone by "Spot" the dog here.pSome brilliant slapstick comedy which will keep you laughing on repeat viewings ...

This is a BRILLIANT family film and ideal if you want a giggle. It is hysterical - think Home Alone style!!! Its about a dog-hating postman who has never grown up and an escaped Police dog who is being hunted down by two incompetant mafia guys as he helped frame their boss!! You can guess what goes on - but what they get upto is rib-crackingly funny!! AN ABSOLUTE MUST FOR ANYONE!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars See Spot Run!   June 23, 2002

See Spot Run may sound like a childrens film when you look at the front cover, but it actually is a great film for adults as well. See Spot Run has many laughs in it, from start to finish, so it will never run dry anywhere throughout it. If you are a dog lover, then you'll love this film, but it is also ideal for people who love films that have lots of funny sketches in it. It is a great film to watch as a family as there is something in it for everyone, young or old.
