It is not everyday a father can give the world to his child. October 15, 2007 Beldar and Prymatt (Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin both from the TV program "Saturday Night Live") residents of the planet "Remulak" were given the simple mission to concur the earth, with its blunt head residents. Due to an oversight they're ship was spotted and dispatched. br /br /Forced to live among the natives they had to adapt. This is the story or their trial and struggles on an alien planet to avoid authorities and perhaps go native themselves while awaiting a rescue.br /br /I found some of their survival techniques quite amusing.br /
Crazy, but worth it! May 5, 2003 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
Coneheads is actually an offshoot of a popular sketch performed on Saturday Night Live. Getting on a bit in years now, I'm surprised that nobody has yet reviewed what I consider to be a fine film, and one that has not aged in the slightest.pPythonesque in approach, Dan Aykroyd Co have a ball dressing up as aliens with enormous foreheads and scary teeth, intent on conquering Earth. Things go awry when they crash though, and the film follows their mishaps as they try to blend in unobtrusively as they await a rescue ship.pEven as they are being persued by Immigration -ironically as illegal aliens- they are seduced by the American dream, embracing consumerist Earth culture with glee.pThe concept may sound weird, but the gags, mannerisms and humour all delight - you'll never look at another supermarket aubergene in the same light! It has a language all of its own too, which you may find yourself using afterwards!pThe film completely avoids taking itself at all seriously, and so should you! Recommended.
Great fun! September 17, 2000 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a great film. If you want comedy... I'd advise this, especially for an evening with your family. Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtin increase the humour tremendously - with their facial expressions and vocabulary! Although, it's a great laugh, I wouldn't say it's special effects are all that brilliant!
