IGimme, Gimme, Gimme/I took situation comedy to new peaks of vulgarity when it returned for a third and final series in 2001, thanks to the full-on performances of James Dreyfus (Tom) and Kathy Burke (Linda) who suck up Jonathan Harvey's innuendo-laden scripts and spit them out like a couple of thespian tornados. "I don't think anything could relax my lips, baby," leers Burke, milking the endless supply of double entendres. "Mind you, after a couple of vodkas they're usually flapping around like flip-flops." p Tom's descent into self-parody--when he looks in the mirror, he sees the new Noel Coward--can have only one logical conclusion: the offer of a bit-part in ICrossroads/I which eventually splits up this dysfunctional friendship. Sex-crazed Linda is deluded beyond all reason--when she looks in the mirror, she sees Catherine Zeta Jones--and here we finally get some insight into the reasons behind her grotesque traits: visits from her old Borstal wing governor (the excellent Ann Mitchell, sending up her IWidows/I character), and the long-lost son she gave up for adoption. p Like all successful comedy, IGimme, Gimme, Gimme/I has its dark side. It also becomes increasingly surreal as the episodes pass: Tom fails miserably in a walk-on role in a conceptual Japanese drama presented in a fire station; and Linda turns the back garden into a campsite. Sophisticated it isn't, but it's often wickedly hilarious and occasionally brilliant. p BOn the DVD:/B IGimme, Gimme, Gimme/I is presented in standard 14:9 format with a stereo soundtrack, replicating the sitcom viewing experience.  Pt 3 - Revenge of Linda and Tom May 12, 2006
Lets not beat around the bush - its not as good as Seasons 1 2 but at least they recognised that and stopped flogging a dead horse (re Ab Fab).br /br /But it still has its moments that has me laughing outloud. But the more I watch Season 3 the more I begin to like it. Maybe a little more mainstream than 1 2 due to moving to BBC1 and maybe a little less rude but the team of Burke/Dreyfuss can still deliver those very nasty and rude lines with the necessary force to make you wince and wonder at their perverse and glorious relationship.br /br /In all, the weakest of the three but just scrapes 4 stars from me.

The third season is terrible, compared with the first two seasons. Fans of Gimme Gimme Gimme will be very disapointed with this season. Linda has lost her sharp tung, Tom has put on weight and looks run down. The writing is just terrible, the Jokes are terrible as is the actors timing. I was only able to watch 2 episodes before giving up. This season did to Gimme Gimme Gimme what Carry On Columbus did to the Carry On series of movies. Very disapointed, sometimes I wondered if the actors realy wanted to be doing the show.

After the wonderful comedy value of the first two series', the third (and seemingly final) series of Gimme Gimme Gimme is shockingly poor. The raucous and clever timing from Burke and Dreyfuss seems absent here, the humour is ludicrously forced and the characters have changed. Linda, is now reduced to a simperingly annoying child. Tom, likewise, is now so OTT as to be boring. In fact, the humour is so bad on occasion, it's downright cringeworthy and embarrassing.p'Down and Out' starts the series off on quite a good note. Although not as funny as previous outings, most of the jokes come off quite well. 'Lollipop Man' is without a doubt the worst episode in the show's history. Both of the leads are ridiculous, the storyline is pathetic and has no weight, and the conclusion is excrutiatingly embarrassing. 'Secrets and Flies' isn't too bad, but Linda's son is awful and most of the jokes are strained. 'Trauma' is simply bad because it features one of the worst and most cringeworthy performances in the series - Bart the nurse. His timing is so off-balance as to be seriously unfunny. 'Singing in the Drain' is slightly better than some in the series, featuring an amusing cameo from Sue Pollard. 'Decoy' ends the series, and it's really rather stale, with a lot of the jokes being very routine or just not funny. But it's worth it for the truly heartbreaking ending.pSo what went wrong? The writing seems to have slipped to sub-par, whilst the directors chair is sadly absent of the late great Liddy Oldroyd. Tristam Shapeero simply doesn't come close to capturing the humour. There are some very slightly entertaining things in some episodes, but in comparison to the last two series', this is devestating.

The Third and final series of Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and it's a must have. You see once again Tom and Linda serching for the right man. Its brilliantly done by James Dreyfus and Kathy Burke, even tho some jokes are obvious they still pull them off. Tom (James Dreyfus) is still waiting for his big chance in acting whilst Linda (Kathy Burke)Is still keeping her eyes on Jez her next door neibour who is married to a pregnant suze. Laughter from beginning to end.brepisode 1 - Down outbrepisode 2 - Lollipop manbrepisode 3 - Secrets fliesbrepisode 4 - Traumabrepisode 5 - Singing in the drainbrepisode 6 - DecoybrIt's watchable over and over and if you liked the other series you will love this. I didnt use to like Gimme,Gimme,Gimme much but sat down and watched it and loved it. There are 6 episodes altogether which makes it a classic and final series which you would not regret buying. pHappy viewingbr brJames

I am a huge fan of the Gimme Gimme Gimme series and after watching the first and second series, I just had to get hold of the third. The acting is brilliant especially on the part of Kathy Burke. The humour will not appeal to everyone though, there are excessive sexual references and could be described as toilet humour. However, those of you who enjoyed Bottom, The New Statesman, Ab Fab, are sure to enjoy this.pLinda (Kathy Burke) thinks that she is the most beautiful woman in the world, despite the fact that everyone thinks otherwise. She is ready and willing to jump into bed with any man that she comes across. Tom (James Dreyfus) is a self-absorbed, friendless (apart from Linda) struggling actor who thinks that he is god's gift to the stage. Tom and Linda share a flat and their interest in men, and the antics which they get up to are hilarious. In the third series Tom meets his idol, we find out a shocking secret about Linda, and does Tom finally get the job of his dreams?pGimme Gimme Gimme is a prime example of British humour at its best!
