are you beng served is my absolute favourite comedy the characters are hilarious and the depatment store too
my favourite is mr humphries i absolutely love him in his role i love his famous saying i`m free it`s hysterical although the other characters are good too as for the other stars i think mr lucas takes a better part than mr spooner he`s got the cheeky face to make you laugh although mr spooner is good and i prefer kenneth waller to harold bennet (mr grace although i suppose he`s ok a bit and i like mr rumbold too i like the way he gets things mixed up
yes all the characters are brilliant from shirley brahms to mrs slocombe mr goldberg to mr grossman mr kline to mr tebbs right down to old mr webster or wagstaff and mr beauchamp and mr grainger
the only peple i don`t like are the kitchen staff they are rude obnoxious arrogant and dirty and i would not want anything they had prepared in the kitchen

This long-running sitcom (10 series, 69 episodes, transmitted between 1972 and 83) are set in the very old-fashioned Grace Brothers department store, owned by octagenarian Young Mr Grace (Harold Bennett). The programme deals with the working life of the staff of the Ladies' and Gent's Outfitting departments. Pompous Floorwalker, Captain Peacock (Frank Thornton), is in overall charge on the floor and Mr Rumbold (Nicholas Smith) is the not Manager. Gents' Outfitting is staffed by nearly retired Mr Grainger (Arthur Brough), gay Mr Humphries (John Inman) and sex-obsessed Mr Lucas (Trevor Bannister). Ladies' Outfitting is staffed by "left on the sheves" Mrs Slocombe (Mollie Sugden)whose Pussy (her cat!!) is her main concern, and young sexy and not to bright Miss Brahms (Wendy Richard).

You will laugh, laugh, laugh about this excellent stories. It is innocent fun. The caracters are stereotypes but just hilarious. The acting is superb. My favorite is Mollie Sugden in her role as Mrs Slocombe: "I am unanimous in this" in order to quote Mrs. Slocombe.

I liked it years ago and I still like it today. It is one of these few comedies which one can see when orginally released and years later. If you are free tonight , just watch it! You will just like it! And it does not ride up with wear (if you know what I mean) it just fits from the start.
