Buy it if you can... October 23, 2008
Seen once and never again, my perpetual inability to buy "Roseanna's Grave / For Roseanna" on a UK region 2 DVD seems to be an enduring and unsolvable mystery.br /br /This is a totally brilliant, charming little film which plays in the same league as AMELIE. Do I really need to say any more?br /br /Copyright holders - PLEASE get this one back out onto the UK market.br /br /

There is not really anything that could be added to the previous reviews - this film was part of my (German)PC Magazine subsrciption in 2005. Eversince, I have been watching this film time and again and have also bought the UK Region 2 version which has English and French soound and what should I say, my British partner fell in love with this film just in the same way as I had been. Absolutely a great film that: it has lot's of good humane humour, a heartwarming story masterly set alive by Jean Reno, Mercedes Ruehl and all otehr roles played wonderfully. Set in a wonderful Italian countryside this film is going deeper than any Hollywood plastic romance films ever managed to do.

Why hasn't this film been released yet on DVD? I like one of the reviewers rented this on VHS, loved it, bought it on VHS, showed it to everyone I know .... please release this on DVD!

After watching this film a few years ago have not forgotten the humour and charm of a very tastefully mastered movie. Have made many enquiries as to when it will be released on DVD but as yet no confirmation on release date from any source. Any help on this matter will be gratefully appreciated.

I first saw this as a rental a few years ago when EVERYTHING else in the shop was out. Lucky for me. This is a charming film, basking in the bitter-sweet humour often associated with death. Jean Reno is superb as the doting, slightly deranged husband who will stop at nothing to reserve the last burial site at the small village church for his ill wife Roseanna, played by Mercedes Ruehl. pThe chemistry between the 2 lead characters makes this film more than just a comic premise; and while we laugh at Marcello (Reno) desperately directing traffic to prevent any fatal accidents and running aroung the lush Italian countryside keeping everyone alive, we can see what's driven him to such drastic measures when he's sitting on the hillside alone with his wife.
