A lot of Asian movies can often lose something in the translation because of cultural references that western viewers may not get and a difference in taste as far as story and pacing. Azumi on the other hand is easy to watch and to follow. It's great fun and has plenty of action and has the feel of a Samurai comic book brought to life.br /br /While certainly "bloody" I wouldn't call Azumi "gory", the blood is just part of the action in the same way as a gunshot is bloody in an American film.br /br /Watch it, you won't be dissapointed.

One word WOW. If you like lots of blood and gory this is the perfect film for you. Occasional the acting could of done with a bit of work but that was only in the smaller character parts. Its like 'Battle Royale' in the 19th century so if you liked that then you will love this. All in all a brilliant film and I would recomend it to all those who enjoy these kinds of Japanese films.
