Amazon.co.uk Review Yep, that ugly toy with the killer's instinct is back for a fifth round of irreverent bloodshed in iSeed of Chucky/i. Chucky and his plastic partner Tiffany are reanimated by their child, a gentle doll of indeterminate gender who'd prefer that his parents stopped their knife-wielding ways. No such luck. In an attempt at irony that also includes John Waters as a tabloid reporter, Jennifer Tilly (who also voices Tiffany) is asked to play herself, a B-grade actress tired of being stuck in a movie filled with murderous dolls. She courts rap star Redman, playing himself, when she hears he's looking for someone to play the mother of Jesus in a new film. Chuck, Tiffany, and spawn naturally interrupt such ridiculous plans. Writer/director Don Mancini has the trio doing things you have to see to believe, including a vivid disembowelment and a human impregnation featuring a turkey baster filled with, you guessed it, the seed of Chucky. It's junk, sure, and tension-free, but Tilly's willing self-debasement is fairly jaw-dropping. If you're so inclined, her shameless decision to play along may be reason enough to suffer the consequences. i--Steve Wiecking, Amazon.com/i

Seed of chucky is the best November 2, 2008 This is one of the best dvd chucky movies that are out to date, its great
Enjoyable July 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think this is a great movie, well worth the money. Of course I am biased, since I love silly horror movies *and* I love the wonderful Miss Tilly. Speaking of Jennifer Tilly, has she ever looked better than in the first few scenes of this movie? I don't think so. She's beyond gorgeous and, as always, her acting is great. She really is a great actress and sadly not recognized as such by most of the world.br /Anyways, the plot may be a little far-fetched, but this is the kind of movie where the plot is supposed to be a little crazy.br /There's enough blood and gore to keep fans of the genre satisfied. And Chucky is just as horrible and evil as he always was.br /The whole Glen/Glenda business can get a bit much at times, but alltogether I think it's a great movie. But I guess you'd have to be a fan of this kind of thing, to appreciate it.
What a shame February 25, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It seems that money and wooden acting was all the "stars" in this film were worried about. Mancini, hold your head in shame. A real let down after four films that really did the job. One star only comes from the fact we get to see Chucky again, but even he appeared overweight and with bad hair implants. What a shame.
Chucky Wasn't Lucky. October 29, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
'Seed Of Chucky' as a piece of cinema isn't that bad being totally honest but compared to the original, 'Child's Play', things have just tragically gone down-hill for Charles Lee Ray.br /You know a film isn't going to be anything special when the actors are replaced by rappers and ex-popstars.br /A prime example of this is 'Halloween: Resurrection' which had Busta Rhymes as a main character alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, it just didn't work.br /The 'Child's Play' franchise have become increasingly worse down the line, especially when the writers decided to change the film from a 'Horror' to almost a 'Black Comedy'.br /Don't get me wrong, Chucky's character hasn't changed that much which is good but the stories and situations he is placed in are just terrible.br /br /'Seed Of Chucky' had the potential of being a good film but I feel that the writers just got overly carried away with this stupid comedy side of Chucky. br /Since when has a serial killer been funny? I know the things he says are funny and that's okay because that's part of his character but the fact that every single death, problem, situation, basically every line spoken has a punchline is just ridiculous.br /Everybody knows that sequals generally aren't as good as the original but this film is just pathetic.br /br /Sorry Chucky, I liked your old films but you have lost the plot.
WATCHABLE August 18, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
br /Plot: Glen/Glenda (Billy Boyd) reawakens his parents. The murderous Chucky (Brad Dourif) and his wife Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) on the set of the new movie, Chucky Goes Psycho. They quickly go about their murderous ways much to the dismay of Glen/Glenda who wants them to stop killing. They agree, but Chucky secretly keeps on killing. On the movie set they run into Jennifer Tilly (Jennifer Tilly) who is in talks with Redman (Redman) about starring in his upcoming film. Chucky plans to posses Redman, Tiffany plans to posses Jennifer Tilly, and Glen/Glenda will posses a new born baby in order to become human again once and for all.br /br /The Good News: This is the most comedic of the series. There are plenty of laughs and smiles for the fans in here. The change from horror to comedy didn't bother me as most of the jokes are pretty funny including one about violins, but the change may upset people who are not fond of the comedic Chucky. The plot is fresh and hasn't been done before which is not typical for a fourth sequel. The film builds cleverly on from the fourth with Chucky and Tiffany being together to this outing with their child. The idea that he is not like his parents and their murderous attitude is original and how he wants them to stop killing provides for some hilarious conversations between Tiffany and Chucky. The few kills are nicely handled, we get an acid burning, run off the road, head concussion, lit on fire, and a nice gutting. This brings up the gore in the film. It is pleasantly gory with adequate blood in every killing which is certain to please gore hounds looking for a gory good time. Jennifer Tilly is the best thing here playing a very contrived version of herself. Brad Dourif's voice for Chucky hasn't lost its touch and is still the best and it would be hard to find another voice actor to even match Brad. Redman and John Waters do fine in their roles, but the best supporting actor award goes to Hannah Spearitt as Joan. Hannah's charm and quirk makes her instantly likable and you are saddened to see her go. On the other hand her death was one of the best. I also give props to the script as it makes you start to feel sympathy for Tiffany as she tries to put her murderous instincts behind her and her caring attitude to Glen/Glenda who is also a nice character and you can relate to him. Billy Boyd's voice could've been improved, but it still works well. Once again the dolls move so fluently and realistically that is easy to forget that they are just dolls. So much care is put into the dolls from the movements to the design of them and it shows greatly. The film has good entertainment value and has a good re watch ability factor.br /br /The Bad News: There are already people who will be against this because of the comedy. Even though this is mainly comedy it does try to have suspenseful moments, but it feels out of place compared to the rest of the movie and the suspense doesn't sell. The cast needed to be beefed up for a bigger body count as more than a few deaths are a dream or not real. This does contain the cliched film within a film, but not too much time is focused on that and really doesn't hurt the film. Jennifer Tilly really needed to be more active during the ending and had a real one on two fight with Chucky and Tiffany, but the ending is strong enough to work just fine the way it is right now.br /br /Conclusion: Slasher fans who like comedy with their slashing will want to give this a look and for Chucky fans who aren't to picky about the content in their films this is a safe bet, but if you're not a fan of smart Aleck Chucky use caution.
