This has rapidly become one of the most enlightening and enjoyable purchases I have ever made.br /br /I had owned some of the Trials of Life episodes and had always wanted the whole collection in DVD format. As far as I know these are not offered in the U.S.A. So when I found this collection I was ecstatic. I love anything with Sir David Attenborough and to have the whole Trials of Life collection I would have paid at least a hundred dollars, then I saw this. It has, not only trials of Life, but the entire Life Series including the great Life on Earth! I bought it instantly.br /br /This is definitely worth the money. You get 24 discs, all great quality and a good looking case!

This collection of documentaries by David Attenborough shows us that he is still the benchmark when it comes to explain in simply and precise, yet captivating and inspirational language the beauty of our planet.br /br /The imagery is stunning and even on the earlier series show an attention to detail and skilled craft of all aspects of film and documentary making that today's crocodile tamers will find very hard to emulate. br /br /Lost for words in the face of such passionate professionalism! This is one of the best dvd set I've bought so far... It includes most of the documentaries of one of the greatest English broadcaster. The image quality is quite good, considering that some of the material is nearly 30 years old. A suggestion for potential Italian buyers: the series is subtitled and Sir Attenborough speaks with a perfect classical British pronunciation that everyone can easily understand, even if he/she is non native English speaking.

I'll keep it brief- If you are interested in the subject matter, you will be absolutely rivetted. If not, you will find yourself captivated anyway ! David Attenborough presents a wonderful outlook on life throughout the series,harsh sometimes, but nevertheless true. If you cannot afford to take your kids to these exotic places to learn about animals in all their forms, FOR ONCE, SIT THEM IN FRONT OF THE T.V.! This is money invested for your ankle-biters. I own all the series in separate forms, and my [...]loves the sea ones best! Look at the separate series if your'e not sure, but you wont regret it. Top Viewing and better than "reality tv" any day of the week. pete, The uk.

I'm writing this for other American fans of David who are frustrated with the pickings we get of David (Life On Earth has NEVER come to us on DVD, nor Life of Plants, or Trials of Life, etc.). Well, you CAN enjoy his Region 2 catalog of videos (I'm watching Attenborough in Paradise right now :0), as well as all the other DVDs available in the UK. How? By purchasing a multi-region DVD player. These players play Region 1 (US) as well as other regions (such as Region 2, Europe). My player plays all regions (and no, I did not have to buy another TV). You can find them on the internet... even at Amazon.com (USA)! Mine was ordered through Amazon for $104.00 and arrived within the week. I also ordered The Life Collection, Attenborough in Paradise, and Lost Worlds/Vanished Lives. Quality? NO DIFFERENCE!!! And, vice versa, people in Region 2 could order and watch Region 1 DVDs from Amazon.com (USA). Recommend that Region 2 try ordering multi-region players from Amazon.co.uk, but there's probably no difference. By the way, I found that shipments are just as fast when coming in from overseas as in country. Enjoy.
