| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Review Bundling together the first two series of the smash hit BBC series, this double pack of ILittle Britain: Series 1 2/I is an economical and entertainment-packed way to catch up with one of the comedy phenomenon of the decade. P A sketch show focusing on an eclectic selection of characters, there?s plenty here to enjoy. From catchphrase comedy, including Dafydd, the only gay in the village, and the yeah-but-no-but-yeah-spouting Vicky Pollard, through to quieter, wryly observed takes on everyday life, it?s hard Inot/I to be entertained. P It?s tricky to pick highlights, but the trick here is that the show? creators--Matt Lucas and David Walliams--have created numerous memorable characters, and have a great knack at putting them in tightly written, at times gut-bustingly funny scenarios. Witness the adventures of wheelchair-bound Andy, as he leads his carer Lou on a merry dance, for evidence. P ILittle Britain/I isn?t a flawless show by any means, and there are a fair share of troughs to the undeniable peaks. Yet Lucas and Walliams, through both their writing and performances, keep the laughs coming regularly and reliably. For ILittle Britain/I is fast, frequently very funny indeed, and has enough moments to ensure these discs will be spun time and time again.--ISimon Brew/I

Has some Brilliant and some awful characterization March 24, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Good compilation..not perfect but then the excellent parts far outweigh the bad. Best characters;br /Lou and Andybr /Vicky Pollardbr /Daffyd - The Only Gay in the villagebr /Marjorie Dawes - Fatfighterbr /br /Worst Charactersbr /The Tory Party Ladiesbr /Molly Sugden's Bridesmaidbr /The Guy who had a crush on his mates grandmotherbr /br /It does avoid political correctness which is good but sometimes the crassness is a bit too muchbr /br /br /Good Price too
Complete, ammoral filth September 23, 2006 5 out of 28 found this review helpful
We purchased seasons 1 through 3 by recommendation. No wonder the world is in the shape it is today.br /br /The humor is coarse, debasing and degrading, depicting the homosexual lifestyle as the filthiest above all.br /br /All portrayed by blokes who support/are of such an entity. We gladly donated these DVDs to an English AIDS fundraiser group in London.br /br /Disgusting. If utterly British in nature, then God, please save the Queens!
Little Britian Raw and Hilarious - Thanks to the Brits September 2, 2006 5 out of 10 found this review helpful
Thank God for the Brits - We would never see anything so raw and hilarious in the US. I was on the floor crying at so many episodes of this show - this show takes risks, and i like that. Across the pond we would never have a young man dreaming about screwing his friends grandma, a lady who throws up every time her food is tainted by a person or race she doesn't like, the village gay Davvvid, and Emily and her transvestite ways - How fresh and funny. There are few skits I could do w/o, but that is all shows. I loove Andy the guy in the wheelchair who says I want that one and then changes his mind, and he can walk, it is hilarious! And Sebastian who is in love w/ the Prime Minister - total gem! Glad I can rent this in the states.

After hearing many friends raving about this show and critics comparing it to the (fantastically hilarious) 'The Fast Show' I decided that I must be missing out on something and sat down to watch this 'comedy gem'.br /br /I really wish I hadn't. The show completely lacked wit, relying on tired catchphrases that were hardly funny to begin with. It was also extremely predictable and lacking in originality. It seemed as if Matt Lucas and David Walliams had just come up with one episode then repeated it over and over again in different locations. br /br /If you wan't to watch a good sketch show watch the Fast Show as this is nothing more than an unfunny attempt to copy it.
Totally unfunny May 25, 2006 13 out of 30 found this review helpful
After hearing a lot about Little Britain and seeing that it had won a couple of awards I settled down to watch it, only to be staggeringly disappointed.br /I really tried to like it assuming you had to 'get into' the characters or that once the idea had been established it would settle down and start to be interesting. It wasn't and if anything was less funny as they seemed to run out of ideas. I watched six episodes without a titter.br /The problem for me is that it seems to be devoid of any truth whatsoever. Usually, funny characters behave badly or disgustingly but leave us with a glimpse of truth to identify with. We may not have liked Alf Garnet but we knew people like him and even recognised some of him in us. Similarly the Smith and Jones characters or Tim Nice but Dim etc,. But the Little Britain characters are universally unlikeable, disgusting and frankly pointless without being the slightest bit believable or interesting.br /You'd be better off buying Goodness Gracious Me, The Office, One foot In the Grave or Ab Fabbr /This is comedy for the reality TV generation.
