lots of humour and a romantic storyline October 17, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just how lucky can one person be and just how unlucky can another person be.This film gives us the answer with lots of humour and a romantic storyline thrown in.It's packed with engaging and likeable characters and there isn't a dull moment in it.A feelgood film that is worth seeing more than once. There are lots of bonus features including two live performances of songs by the pop group McFly and interviews with the main actors and members of the production team.
love it October 11, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful

Good Film With Good Acting October 9, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was really cynical before I watched this film, mainly because it had Lindsay Lohan in and recently she has had a lot of bad press, and the previous films she's been in haven't been that good. I was surprised how good she was, she was utterly convincing as the girl who had the world at her feet and then to find her luck had completley vanished and thus followed a series of embarassing events for her to try and get her luck back. She was convincing, she was also quite strong and had some life about her character that makes me want to care. I haven't given this five stars simply because I think at times it had a little too much mushy romantic stuff you normally associate with American comedies...it really weakened the film and went all sloppy. A bit like a nice solid chocolate truffle that has melted into a gloopy pile. This is just my opinion, and maybe I do see things a little more cynically but I'm a British girl and that's just the way I think!. Watch this on a night in with your friends, with chocolate truffles!
bit dissapointing October 8, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
okay i admit the only reason i went to see this film was because of the fact mcfly were going to be in it and with being a chick flick fan i thought that id give it ago, but to my dissapointment lindsay lohan gave a cringeworthy performance with unforgivable (supposed to be flirting)lines such as 'ile be the red head who looks like this' i could barely remove my hands from covering my eyes. i felt that you could not sypathise or connect with the charactor in which you were supposed to, which meant the traditional happy ending (in most chick flicks) was more of a bad ending that was supposed to come across as happy. i was also shocked by the bad british slang that mcfly were made to say in their small roles (but besides that mcfly were fab)
excuse me for yawning September 20, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This movie is seriously boring! I was warned not to waste an evening watching it by an 18 year old. I wish I'd taken her advice.....but being 64 and knowing better, I did watch, kept expecting it to improve....but it didn't. Don't make my mistake!
