"Dynasty" the 80s glamarous soap about the dramas of the Carrington family returns for a second series and sees the arrival of superbitch Alexis Carrington(Joan Collins)ex wife of Blake(John Forsythe)all set for her revenge by turning up at Blake's trail for murder of his son Steven's(Al Corley)lover Ted.br /The first series of Dynasty struggled in the ratings and three cast members didn't make to the 2nd series Matthew Blazidel(Bo Hopkins)chauffer Micheal(Wayne Northop)and Lindsey Blazidel(Katy Kurtzman) although Matthew and Michael make dramatic returns in later seasons.br /Joan Collins is fantastic as Alexis,she sets the show alight,her outfits are quite mild compared to the outfits that were to follow,her opening line to hostile daughter Fallon(Pamela Sue Martin)is a classic:"I'm glad to see,your father had your teeth fixed,if not your tongue!"br /Deranged Doctor Nick(James Farentino)is the central villian in this season but he doesn't return after season 2 and makes way for evil Adam(Gordon Thomson)in season 3.br /Al Corley is so good as Steven,such a shame that he quit,due to the writers bowing to the pressure of the network and trying to "straighten" Steven out,he gets a glamorous new wife,the greedy Sammy-Jo(Heather Locklear)Steven does return in the next season in the form of Jack Coleman.br /I always feel Alexis deliberately causing Krsytle(Linda Evans)to miscarry by having her thrown of her horse is too evil even for Alexis but this all leads to the first infamous cat fight in the series,the fact two stuntmen can be clearly seen at times,is half the fun!br /I highly recommend this DVD,very surprised its not been released on region 2 format,considering how popular the show was in the UK.br /Enjoy this wallow in 80s super gloss!
