 Not funny December 21, 2008
Interesting ... there I thought the term "comedian" would imply that he should be at least somewhat funny. I watched the whole DVD and the first time I had to grin was no less than 73 minutes through the programme. If you want a good stand-up comedian you'd better go for Jimmy Carr.

Truly dreadful - and the mark of how someone who can weave comedy magic in ten minute bursts is not necessarily someone who can sustain a full stand-up show. The first half-hour or so is largely a compilation of material he's done in short bursts elsewhere - and mostly holds up - but after that he simply has nowhere to go, and the whole thing becomes a grindingly repetitive series of empty, unfunny, grimaces and accents. It becomes all too unfortunately, hollowly, clear that Omid Djalili is a quipper not a comedian.br /br /Bizarrely, the audience seems to lap the whole thing up. After the first half-hour, I didn't laugh once in about forty minutes. Perhaps you had to be there? In a living room, it's deathly.

I work outside the UK and do not see very much British TV. I saw Omid on an in-flight entertainment channel and decided to track down more of his material.br /This is really entertaining DVD, and Omid himself is brilliant. Great material, delivery style, and his accents, impressions and observations on people are just superb.br /I rarely laugh out loud - but omid had me rolling!br /br /BUY IT!

This guy is very good, i knew there was something about this guy when i saw him in the film 'the mummy'..he is hilarious ..especially his accents and impressions...i hope this guy releases more stand up stuff in the future...buy this dvd , you won't regret it...

Amazing, very funny and beautifully played showes. Omid Djalili's performance has opened a new window to the bright part of the Iranian culture. He proves that the Iraninas are so witty, clever and civilised. I recommend watching his incredible DVD to everybody with any taste.
