pThe multi award-winning and critically acclaimed comedy returns to DVD for a fifth series. Peep Show continues to delve into the innermost thoughts of Mark (David Mitchell) - the conventional one seething with inner rages and desires - and Jeremy (Robert Webb) - the loose cannon full of expressed rages and desires - but seething with even more rage on the inside./p pMark and Jeremy are entering their 30s with failed marriages behind them, few prospects, and a sense of impending crisis. Time is running out for them to sort out their lives. Jeremy?s mother appears on the scene and it soon becomes clear why he?s ended up as he is. Mark goes speed dating, and discovers money can buy you love. Jeremy and Superhans (Matt King) play at a Christian Rock Festival; the flat suffers multiple burglaries and the boys endure their worst ever night out ? at the theatre./p pbExtras/b:br BEHIND THE SCENES with Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong guiding you through the production process, from how they get ideas for the series, read throughs and rehearsals with cast, to shooting on set and on location to the final product!/p pPEEP SHOW RELATIONSHIP TREE ? your guide to whose slept with whom throughout all the Peep Show series?? this is a trip through Mark and Jeremy?s love lives throughout series 1-5, with clips and graphics to explain the various connections!/p pDELETED SCENES/p pSOPHIE?S POV ? existing scenes from episode 6 written by Sam and Jesse from Sophie?s point of view./p

3 out of 5 stars DISK MISSING FROM THE BOX   January 1, 2009
I would have wrote a review about the series and how good/bad it is but unfortunately, after taking off the packaging and opening the box, the disk wasn't in there.br /Good going Amazon and whoever they get their stock from.

1 out of 5 stars The sad demise of a once sublime series   December 26, 2008
Series Five of Peep Show is a sad sight, after the first four consistently inspired series. Series one and two of the show remain the best, partly because of very consistent writing and consistent characterisation, but also because the world we were let into was warped and off-kilter, but still elicited sympathy and even empathy. Series five, however,is a step too far, and the characters have become caricatures who behave in ways that show no real rhyme or reason. Jeremy in particular is merely sociopathic, where he used to be deluded. Please stop making it now! It's a bit like an old pet who you still love, but is so lame that it would be kinder to have it put to sleep.....

5 out of 5 stars Clever, cutting edge comedy... as before.   November 25, 2008
I can't believe that I was put off buying this at full price because of some of the reviews I read here. I loved the other series of Peep Show, and didn't want to see this one falter. After waiting for such a long time for it to come down in price, I'm annoyed at the over-critical ratings of some reviewers.br /br /This is just as cleverly written as previously - in fact, I don't see what yardstick people are using to compare them. The writing style is similar to other series because it is the same characters and writers which have worked so well before (do they want another Only Fools and Horses disaster where they win the lottery or something?), but the situations, dialogue and story-lines are all as completely original as series 2,3 and 4.br /br /If you liked the others, get this DVD - I doubt you'll be as disappointed as some of these reactionary reviewers seem to have been.

2 out of 5 stars one trick pony   October 23, 2008
i loved the first 3 series, its getting tiresome now seeing them lose all the time and to be quite honest i think the characters have been exhausted. Jez in particular i find annoying now, its still funny at times, but i fear peep show has run its course, its become a one trick pony. Quit while youre still just about ahead lads.

3 out of 5 stars a little drop in form   July 7, 2008
5 out of 8 found this review helpful

Series five of peep show continues on from where series four left off and builds the story nicely but at the same time there is a wee drop in form here that means the show loses its consistency for perhaps the very first time.br /The series starts well but falls a little with a puerile feel to it at times that beggars the belief that is a brilliantly written show, some of this feels wrong, the episode with the australian lodger being average to say the least, the laughs are still here and there but not everywhere, and that again is a new development.br /The story arc here is good though and of the six episodes i would state that 4 are still gold with two maybe drowning in childish antics that arent worthy of these two great characters, still better than most of whats around these days,3.5 stars.
