Simple but powerful February 14, 2008

One of my favorite films. Not so much anti-war but anti the cheapening and dehumanizing of "enemies", Very stagey and little action. The characters are clearly delineated and well acted, particularly Laurence Harvey as both the pro and antagonist. The dialogue and ensemble work is excellent. Unfortunately the print is fullscreen, not it's original 1:66-1 aspect ratio. This omission doesn't make a huge difference. Print quality is slightly above average. Recommended if you like films that propose questions with no easy answers and deal with issues that I'm sure to this day every soldier on the front lines has to deal with.
