I loved this series and it was great to see the first of it on dvd but where are the rest please do not stop now bring the rest out as it still is a great show

What an absolute joy it was to recently find out that one of my favourite 80s sitcoms was being released onto dvd. I have waited a long time for this as i could never understand why such a successful running to 4 series was never released onto vhs. I have spent this afternoon reliving happy memories of this great sitcom with its gentle humour and generation clashes of three women in the same house....i hope it just doesn't stop with these 6 episodes of series 1 ...please, please please release the other series ..it's going to be incomplete otherwise !!! Buy it people so that this could be a possibility ..and such a fab price also. Enjoy !!

I am so delighted that After Henry has finally arrived! I have treasured the few episodes that I managed to record in the 90-ies from a satellite TV in Switzerland, and finally, the first series is here - and I cannot wait for more!br /For those who do not know the series, here's a brief outline: Sarah is the archetype of a nice, middleclass mother, and like most mums, finds herself at the bottom of the household hierarchy (somewhere `below the goldfish and gerbils' as she puts it); after her husband Dr. Henry France's passing on, she finds herself slightly bewildered, suddenly on her own, living with her selfish and self centred daughter Claire (in other words, a typical teenager); to make Sarah's suffering complete, her mother lives in a flat downstairs - and is an older version of Claire. To complete the slightly `oldie worldie' scene, Sara's boss Russell (owner of a `Bygone Books' antique book shop, always well dressed, with the necessary bowtie) is the only person in her life who actually listens to her and in his own way cares. If you feel that this setting might be rather boring, think again - as Grandma dates a two-timing OAP, Sarah receives obscene phone calls (that are always interrupted just in time) and a common cold becomes a matter of competition! Hilarious, heart warming, sweet, funny, comforting... and not to mention the wonderful performances of Prunella Scales, Janine Woods and Joan Sanderson. If you liked To The Manor Born or As Time Goes By, After Henry is just for you - hope you will enjoy! br /

I've been waiting for After Henry to be released on DVD for years. I grew up with this series, first on radio and then on television and it has stood the test of time. It remains my absolute favourite. Nothing quite beats the feel good factor of watching this on a rainy Sunday afternoon. br /br /A true classic British comedy.
