THE FLY GOES BLU May 19, 2008

The fly is a horror classic from the 80s that deserves its reputation as a well told, well acted gore shocker.br /br /No amount of description here can do justice to this film that contains just about every level of horror and suprise. On a deeper level Cronenberg the Director gets his Lovecraft flag flying, as our imaginations run riot as to how far the fusion of human and fly will go.br /br /Blu Raybr /Although I had read good reviews of the picture quality I found that the ordinary bits of the film look just that - ordinary. However it is the incredible make up and gory effects that pay dividends in blu ray. You can see just how much that department has put in to lift the film to its classic status. br /The picture is devoid of noise, has good colour and is clear. Further Jeff Goldblum together with the imaginative design and makeup transforms himself into a horrific monster.br /br /All in all worth the blu ray for the extra colour and clarity and for those that want to 'enjoy' and appreciate this horror classic. br /
