Product Description Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Timothy Spall, Susan Sarandon
Amazon.co.uk Review If you?re looking for signs that the modern-day Disney has lost neither its touch nor its savvy nature, then there?s evidence in abundance in the smart modern-day fairy tale IEnchanted/I. Bookended by the kind of old-style animation the studio is rightly famed for, the main, live action segment of the film finds Amy Adams? Giselle--an archetypal Disney princess in pretty much every sense--dropped slap bang into the middle of modern day New York. P What follows is ingenious fun, as Giselle walks round very much as a fish out of water, followed quickly by James Marsden?s prince who attempts to come to the rescue. Thing is, modern day New York and old style princesses don?t really mix, and IEnchanted/I studiously mines the comedy of the scenario, thanks to a smart and witty script. P What also lifts IEnchanted/I though are the delightful tips of the hat to classics of Disney old. And we?re not just talking the show-stopping numbers: there are references to the likes of IBeauty and the Beast/I, ISnow White/I and ISleeping Beauty/I to be found here, and a star-making performance from Adams powering the whole film forward. P One of the very best family movies of 2007, IEnchanted/I does occasionally stumble through the odd twee moment (and it could really use a villain with more screen time than Susan Sarandon?s wicked stepmother gets), but that can?t hide the fact that it?s terrific fun, lavishly made and, at its best, quite brilliant. A modern day family classic, and great to see Disney once again delivering the kind of entertainment it excels at. --ISimon Brew/I

Perfect Disney release November 14, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Five stars all the way. Disney are proving that they're the company to beat when it comes to the next gen format. Almost all of their releases so far have been flawless. From the great Ratatouile, the 3D like image on High School Musical and the the stunning Pirates (Black Pearl) they have raised the bar for picture and sound quality. This release is no different. Enchanted is as close to perfect as you can get - the picture leaps of the screen and the sound drags you into the experience. The film itself is fantastic fun for adults and children. The story shows what happens when an animated princess wakes up in modern day New York (as the not so animated Amy Adams) Amy is incredible in this movie - she makes you believe that she's stepped out of a Disney cartoon! I can't recommend this to you enough. One of the top five Blu-rays available for picture and sound quality!

Sensational Disney Fantasy on An Enchanted Blu-ray June 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Giselle is a princess dreaming of her happy ever after as she sings her way to true love in an enchanted forest in animated style(literally)....but Narissa the evil queen has other ideas when she banishes Giselle to the real world of Manhattan in modern day New York to be lost amidst a completely different world.....The scene is set then for a modern day twist for a perfect real life fairytale in a cross between Snow White and Pretty Woman....what's your dream? Amy Adams plays an innocent Princess Giselle who is reluctantly helped at first by a divorce lawyer in the form of Patrick Dempsey (Greys Anatomy) and followed into the real world by an equally dashing Prince Edward played by James Marsden and an evil queen Narissa with Susan Sarandon's help....What transpires is a totally sensational chemistry based Disney with lots of humour song and dance with a touch of panto theme(watch out for the song and dance sequence in New York's Central Park as it is magic)....Will Giselle find her Prince Charming?....Simplicity is the key to a very entertaining colourful Disney with the characters all combining to make it one of the top Disneys to be released in recent years..... as to the Blu-ray I have never seen such a fantastic colourful spectacle as Giselles song "How will I know" in Central Park...the picture quality is absolutely pin sharp with vivid bold colours and vibrant contrast...This can also be said of the Grand Ball Dance sequence at the end of the film...Indeed there is a whole host of demo hd material in this film such as the entrance of Narissa and Prince Charming via the man-hole in the middle of Times square New York....The sound too is top notch with explosive entrances, lively musical scores by Alan Menken, an absolutely must have blu-ray with very enjoyable family entertainment, comes Highly recommended...
Great film for everyone May 14, 2008 When it started, I was squirming in my seat, the opening sequence was so sweet and sickly. However, I soon got into it and appreciated the way Disney was laughing at itself.br /br /The visuals are great, with the Chipmunk being the star, but the whole thing kept us (me, the wife and kids 10 12) interested all the way through. Story was good, but the jokes were fantastic.br /br /Only 4 stars? Well, there are better films around, but you're missing out if you don't watch this one.
Excellent Film - But Disney have messed up the blu-ray April 12, 2008 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
Tihs is an amazing movie but Disney have made a frustrating disc.br /br /There are about ten different commercials at the beginning of the disc, thankfully you can skip them with the next button but you have to do each one individually, so you're sitting pushing next for about five minutes before you get to the main menu (you can't just press the menu button). very annoying. if i've paid 20 on a disc i deserve to be allowed to watch it.br /br /more annoying is that disney have made the disc bypass one of the recent playstation 3 features. the playstation 3 remembers the playback position of dvds and blurays after you stop watching and resumes from that point, even if you take out the disc and put in another one. this even works on old dvds. however disney's enchanted blu-ray always starts from the beginning, meaning you get the adverts again.br /br /thank you to the makers of this movie and to disney for making a movie that openly mocks its own legacy in an entertaining way. but disney's over-zealous advertising department needs to think about the consumer a bit more.
