4 out of 5 stars Very Good BUT DON'T WATCH THE FEATURES BIT ON DISC 3 UNTIL YOU'VE SEEN THE WHOLE SERIES   November 19, 2008
Really good, think the team needed a shake-up anyway. There's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said (to quote the Mighty Lemon Drops), except to reiterate that you must not watch the Features bit on Disc 3 (of 4) until you've finished the series. You'll know why when you've seen Disc 4.br /br /Oh and the last two episodes are great, watch them the same evening (does anyone watch House any other way than a disc a night?).

5 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!!   August 18, 2008

I already wrote a review of this and it mysteriously vanished, not sure why cos I wasn't rude about anything but anyway I wanted to write one again to encourage people to buy this dvd. Season 4 has been criticised quite a bit but I can't really understand why, I thought it was excellent. By getting rid of the old 'team' of Chase, Foreman and Cameron the show is totally refreshed and there are plenty of new characters to get involved with. I loved pretty much every episode, among them are moments that are funny, inventive and moving. The last two episodes (a two-parter) especially are amazing, they made me cry. The acting is so good and when you have watched all of the episodes of the show you really become involved in the characters and what happens to them. If you like House, definitely buy this season! If you have never watched it, I would say it is better to go from the beginning of series 1, but season 4 works as a stand alone too if you want. Can't wait for season 5.

5 out of 5 stars House Fanatic also   July 16, 2008

I am also a fanatic of House and i also couldn't imagine my life without it. I wouldn't say that this series was better than any of the others- they are all incredible, and the combined effect is what really counts, producing one of the greatest television programs EVER!! If you are going to buy this, it's worth getting the big box set of all of the series' unless you have the first three already.

5 out of 5 stars Best season ever   July 9, 2008

S3 was the lowpoint of the show for me and when I heard that three of the main cast had been ditched for S4, I wasn't expecting to like it much. Just shows how wrong you can be. I loved the new, additional cast and to my great surprise didn't miss Chase, Foreman or Cameron at all. I liked that you saw them occasionally, but the new additions breathed fresh life into the show and provided such an interesting mix. The latter episodes of the season, focusing on the conflict between Wilson, House and Wilson's new girlfriend were also greatly enjoyable and as for the two part finale...superb. Tearjerking angst at its best and beautifully done. (My only annoyance was the striptease scene, which I thought was unduly gratuitous and added nothing to the plot.) I'm now anticipating S5 with eagerness.

5 out of 5 stars House ( Do I Need To Say More?)   July 7, 2008

To tell you the truth, I wasn't expecting much from this forth season. Sure I'm a big fan of House, but season three ended in such a way that left me somewhat disappointed, and I wasn't sure how the show was going to recover from that rather unexpected final. I also wasn't sure what direction House was heading in, and if they could improve on the otherwise brilliant previous three seasons. Thankfully it didn't take long for my fears to pass and I was proven wrong in the best possible way as House Season Four is exceptionally good.br /br /Hugh Laurie (as usual) is remarkable as Gregory House, a doctor who describes himself in the final episode as a "...lonely misanthropic drug addict." He is supported by Lisa Edelstein (Cuddy), Robert Sean Leonard (Wilson), Jesse Spencer (Chase), Jennifer Morrison (Cameron), Omar Epps (Foreman), as well as the new members of his team (I won't spoil it by telling you who he finally hires in case you haven't yet seen it.) But all of these actors and actress are absolutely stellar in their roles. Doctor Wilson especially is unbelievably good though out the season. Whether he's kidnapping House's twelfth thousand dollar 1967 "Flying V" guitar or helping to diagnose a patient that's trapped at the South Pole, you can count on him to be fantastic. Everything about the series is pretty much perfect. The medical cases and patients are terrific, House's mind-games with Cuddy and Wilson are still brilliant, and the humour is well suited. Each episode really is superb and a masterpiece of creation, perfectly scripted, and planned out. br /br /I thought that the last two episodes in the series were the best. Simply because the cast members are all at their personal best creating a very emotionally charged rollercoaster ride. The series final was the most moving forty five minutes I have ever seen on TV.br /br /I did find the beginning of the series somewhat confusing, with people being fired left, right, and center, it was slightly difficult to keep up and remember who's who. But once the dust had settled and House's new team emerged out of the chaos things became clear (while still throwing up plenty of unexpected twists.) Plus we get to know the new characters pretty quickly thanks again to the wonderful writing and acting. It's a real shame that the season was reduced to only sixteen episodes due to the writer's strike, but those same sixteen episodes are well worth it.br /br /It's almost unbelievable to think that I discovered House entirely by accident one night early last year while channel surfing. Now I can't imagine my life without it. House is truly unmissable. Ignore any critics that say otherwise. I highly recommend it as a must-see-at-all-costs show and I can't wait for the next season.
