Good effort for first time November 2, 2008 This was pretty decent effort seen as it's a first effort for these guys. Keep it up!
Good effort October 25, 2008 Wasn't the best film in the world, but well worth a watch - nice effort for first timers I think!
Says it all, Bang! October 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very punchy new movie that ticks a lot of boxes for the guys, not a chick flick in any sense! Considering the budget this apparently had, it's a damn cool piece. Slick, sexy and pacy- where else do you get Mike Reid as a brilliant gangster, a lesbian cannibal played by Rula Lenska and Cantona(!!) as a bar philosopher. You need to get this in your DVD library. I can see why it's an 18 though...
Well crafted fast paced thriller - violent and sexy. October 13, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Jack's lost it - his memory, his girl, his sense of humour and finally his cool. Jack is not a nice person. Invited to an up close and personal interview by the Boss (beautiful cameo by the late Mike Reid), Jack (played with aching realism by Simon Phillips) is beaten senseless for what one imagines are his not inconsiderable sins and wakes up next to a corpse. Time to split. But where? His only clue is a photo of `Breasts of the Year' on the back of which is a Parisian address.br /br /Jack's Paris is one of contrasts. Sympathetically photographed, the Paris of lovers is contrasted with its seedier side. It too has a Boss. The magnificent Garvey with Rula Lenska showing us an aspect of her character we had little suspected. Jack rediscovers Erin, his girl (a convincingly understated performance by Rita Ramnani), and, as his memory slowly returns in a series of flashbacks, finds himself inexorably drawn into a violent storm of jealous love and malevolent revenge. br /br /With poignant flashes of humour midst the mounting carnage, in particular from Eric Cantona as the bar room philosopher, this is a movie to come home to with your mates after a night down the local. Get the pizzas in and settle down to a fast paced elegant film noir, violent and sexy but which offers some kind of redemption in the end. Some of the plotting is a little hard to follow on first viewing but it does all hang together and whilst not stunningly original this is a really excellent debut film.
Not Bad at all! October 9, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a low budget film - but it's got a lot of punch pcked into it - well done to the guys that put it together!
