 Naughty or nice? - a bit of both! January 8, 2009
This film is OK........ br /br /To be honest I wasn't expecting too much from this film and I wasn't disappointed. For me Vince Vaughan played an almost pedestrian role - I much preferred the characters and acting of Kevin Spacey and Paul Giamatti. br /For me the best parts of the film was the 'Siblings Anonymous' scene which is where lesser known siblings describe the angst of having a more famous brother - I won't spoil it for you! The other best bit was at the end where various children are shown opening their presents - no words, just Sinead O'Connors 'Silent Night' playing.br /br /I wouldn't watch this film with under 10s. Occasional parts of the film don't sit well with what I consider family viewing but that maybe just me.br /br /The Christmas music playing throughout the film is spot on - the usuals plus a few more you may never have heard. Try and buy this for a fiver but I'd recommend the soundtrack more.br /

"Fred Claus" is a madcap comedy about Santa and the problems, and love, generated by his family. Fred (Vince Vaughn) is Santa's (Paul Giamatti) older, fast talking hustler brother who irritates everyone of whom he tries to take advantage. Santa's wife wants to protect him from Fred, but Santa tries to exercise tough love when he gives Fred a job. Fred's conduct plays into the hands of a vengeful efficiency expert who is scheming to shut Santa down, forever. Ultimately, Fred pitches in to save Christmas and help his friends besides.br /This is a funny, clean, holiday movie. Ho, Ho, Ho!br /

This is a great family movie for Christmas it was very funny and brillantly put together. I would say this is as good as Elf and Jingle All The Way, I would recommand this to you all you won't go far wrong here.

I have been waiting all year on this film coming out on dvd! It's a great christmas story which the children will love. It is also very comical in parts! However, the best bit is seeing Vince Vaughn in a santa suit!! (that part is for the girls)!br /It beats those awful Tim Allen films.br /br /Enjoy

Though this is never going to be up there with the christmas classics such as The snowman and It's a wonderful life its a very funny film that will get you in the festive spirit and if you don't like all those other sickly sweet xmas films than this might be an option for the whole family to enjoy.
