5 out of 5 stars Yes, L is different, But films are not manga and same author   October 7, 2008

l! L will always be better in mangas, But I must admit I cannot think of a better actor, even if they have broken a few rules. And a least this was written by the same author. I try to think of films as separate but similar stories to there manga and anime counterparts.
The same rules apply to spin-off (which this seems to be more than a sequel) and sequels. But still THIS FILM ROCKS!
Also the scientists are trying to kill me so its strangely relevant to my life... My friends found the addition of scientist very amusing.... */cries. Does no-one else find lab coats terrifying! They're evil!. And im really the only crazy-obsessed death note fan so apparently its even funnier.... (they prefer my hime and ouran high).
Yay L! Trust me, this films rocks way more than my expectations. Now whether or not to buy the region 2 version to go with my region 3 and 0 versions....
Completely different story from the deathnote films and leaves you craving sweets for months... so far. But IT'S A FILM ALL ABOUT L!

4 out of 5 stars *SPOILERS* A good sequel, but not like death note   September 28, 2008

This was a good film, but the only thing i have to say is, what happened to L? It follows the second death note movie, after L writes his own name in the death note, this part is explained very early on.
The main story line follows a disease which is planned to be used as a weapon to help out the Eco system by wiping out humans. L meets a boy, who is immune to this highly contagious virus and a girl who is the daughter of the professor who is developing the antidote.
The 1* that was lost was due to the way they ruined L's character, first off they gave him shoes and i think socks, whereas stated in death note 13, it says he hates socks, also, L doesn't go outside during the anime/manga much, but in this film he is outside for quite alot, and isn't traveling by car.
The ending is left fairly open for Near and Mello to come in, from Wammy house. But this is just a guess, nothing has been confirmed.

A good film to watch after the first two, with some excellent scenes, but beware L fans, you might not love this one so much.
