Time for retirement December 18, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Why?br /1) Inspector Frost has reached an age where being a police officer is quite unrealistic, the same accounts for some of his "partners in crime"br /2) The story lines have become quite predictable.br /3) All witty dialogues have been done over the years, at least once. Everything has been said between Frost and his colleagues/superior.br /If there is yet another series, please let Frost retire in dignity (although I cannot see how) or die in action (although I cannot imagine this either)br /br /Don't get me wrong, I have been (and still am) a huge David Jason fan, but it's time for Mr Frost to go!
Frost, an oldie but goldie November 7, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Yes, another new series, the 14th to be exact, but the makers have done it again. Still the best detective series on TV, this new offering is superbly enjoyable.br /br /The actors have got older in real life as well as in the series and this is none the worse for that. Frost (David Jason) has mellowed a little, as he and George Toolan (John Lyons) begin to learn that the job is a little more dangerous than when they were younger. Frost even shows his long suffering boss Mullett (Bruce Alexander) a little respect, these days.br /br /The show maintains its enjoyable feel good factor, as other old friends such as Ernie Trigg (Arthur White) are still based at Denton Police Station. So continue to enjoy the big hearted Jack Frost, the unconvetional policeman with an instinct for moral justice, in these new episodes of Britains top TV detective drama.
Not a patch on earlier episodes October 22, 2008 3 out of 12 found this review helpful
Sadly having watched two episodes on TV I reckon it's time for Frost to hang up his handcuffs. His (and George's) delivery of lines is slow and pedantic as if they have trouble remembering what to say. To cap it all Frost dresses tidely, is civil to Mullet, and doesn't get into any trouble, a total reversal of all that was the "soul" of Frost.
A welcome return October 12, 2008 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I have just watched episode 1 `Mind Games`on TV and enjoyed our super slueths long awaited return to the screen. Having collected all previous series on DVD ,I can`t wait to see and recieve the remaining episodes.Frost will continue to be popular, long after Frost retires. It has a magic formula, and of course the brilliance of Sir David Jason.
