Great film.. October 4, 2008
I bought this film knowing nothing about it other than the fact that it was made director Charles Burnett ("The Glass Shield", "To Sleep with Anger"). It turned out to be a great choice. This film was set in the deep south in the slave days, but manages to be very interesting, despite the much-covered subject matter. An uplifiting story although it doesnt cover happy topic and doesn't necessarily have a "happy ending".
Don't want to give too much away, but I highly recommend it!
