Amazon.co.uk Review
Translating Rowan Atkinson's Mr Bean character from British television to the big screen takes a bit of a toll, but there are some hilarious sequences in this popular comedy. The eponymous Bean, a boy-man twit with a knack for getting into difficult binds (and then making them worse and worse and worse), is a London museum guard who is sent to Los Angeles in the company of the famous painting Whistler's Mother. He's mistaken as an art expert by the well-meaning curator (Peter MacNicol) of an LA museum, but Bean's famously eccentric behaviour soon causes the poor guy to almost lose his family and job. The insularity of Bean's TV world is sacrificed in this film, and that change diminishes some of the character's appeal. But Atkinson is a man naturally full of comedy, and he doesn't let his fans down. --Tom Keogh

4 out of 5 stars Mr Bean is great   May 15, 2007

I enjoyed this quite a lot but it is not as good as the new one when he goes to France. The best bit is when he fiddles with the controls on the ride. Highly recommended.

3 out of 5 stars Bean is Usually a near silent character   May 6, 2007

Don't get me wrong here , this movie is absolutely hilarious in some parts , but half of those parts were taken from the TV - series and recycled again into this movie.

though the all concept of the movie was original and played well by all the actors. this time very much unlike the series the producers decided to add Bean character accept from the jokes and laughs also human feeling , so the movie is also very touching in some parts .

So in this movie we get to see a human Bean , that have feeling and emotions just like everybody else , he also talk a lot during the hour and a half film , something we didn't see him do a lot during the series , which there he was more like a character in a silent movie.

I have to say, i am so glad they bought a full length movie out with Rowan Atkinson. As usual, he is quite funny in this movie. It's rather different to the TV series, obviously because those were not movies. But this is well worth watching, it is a definate family movie! Hilarious/fun/superb!

5 out of 5 stars SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUNNY   February 13, 2005

this is unbelievable how funny it was, i was cryin my eyes out.
i only hav one complaint...
Once upon a time I bought my mother some patio chairs for Christmas, they are white. However, I forgot that she did not have a patio, and so she had to use these in her very cramped, but simple lounge. Anyway, because mymother was not exactly thrilled with the present, she always makes me sit on them, (before getting out the whip) as a punishment. I wanted a quiet night in with my boyfriend and a romantic movie(The Ultimate Disaster Movie) and an apple juice or orange squash, however, my flat was being redecorated and so I had to come to my mothers. I obviously drank too much of the hard stuff, and so when watching it I was laughing soo much that I wet myself, alllll over my mothers new patio chairs. She was very happy because it gave her an excuse to get rid of them. Howvever, just to annoy me she pretended that she was most upset and demanded that I buy her a hamster. THe kind she wanted was a very rare one from the aboriginal outskirts of the Australian outback. These are almost extinct and there are only two left, but they cannot be seperated otherwise they will completely become extinct because they will not be able to mate. So I had to spend all of my life savings on these hamsters, who died off pneaumonia two days later. So basically now I have moved into my mothers place because I have no money to pay rent. As it is only a very small flat I have to share her bed, and my new boyfriend(the old one dumped me because of the little incident) has to sleep in my mothers bed with us also. BAsically because of the hilarity of this movie my life has been ruined! Faith rules!! Love from us xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
