Excellent film with brilliant humour but lacked plot September 13, 2000

Jane Horrocks plays Marla Dorlan aka Mavis Davis, a fledgling pop star recruited by Marty Star (Rik Mayall), who soars to micro stardom on the back of his managerial skills. Star, failing to make money to pay back his debts decides to kill Mavis and cut his losses hiring an incompetent assain. Very humourous and a tribute to Mayall and Horrocks acting abilities with what is a fairly thin plot and script. Definatly a watch once film as there was not really the substance for a second viewing but certainly worth seeing if you get the chance.
